Alphard ewheels ver 1 vs ver 2...

To those of you who have had ver 1 or both, is it worth it to buy ver2 or is the price difference not really worth it?

Im looking at a ver1 deal that includes a rovic rv1s and the other is just the ewheels with zero bag. The price difference is large enough to make me lean towards the ver1. I wanted to see what others have observed through use and opinions.

I’ve had the V1 and now the V2 and I have to say that the V2 is all that I wished the V1 could be. Don’t get me wrong, the V1 was great, but there were things that I had to just accept. There was the constant adjusting on side hills, slow turning with a fixed front wheel, having to unload the entire unit to charge, and the lack of speed. All of these issues have been resolved for me with V2. I haven’t received my Tether Follow Sensor yet, so I can’t say much about that, but what I’ve read from current users makes me have high expectations.  Granted I was an early adopter, so I paid less that the current list price for the V2. But even at the current price, it is only $200 more than what I paid for the V1. Also, I already had a Clicgear cart so all I had to do was get the front swivel kit to complete my set up. Btw, I tried the V1 after installing the front swivel kit and it was helpful on flat ground, but without a gyroscope side hills were worse to navigate than a fixed front wheel. If you already have a cart that you can convert, I’d say that the V2 is worth it. Makes sure to get the wheelie bar too.

I had the V1 and sold it to a friend when I got the V2. I have used a Clicgear 3.5+ and wheelie bars with both. The V2 is far easier to operate and more hands-off with the gyros and tether.   The teather (TFS) is awesome - I didn't think I would use it at all and I can't believe how easy it is to use - grab and go and the cart follows.  The V2 detachable battery is much more convenient if you leave the unit in your car or truck. Adding the swivel attachment to the front also made a huge difference with the V2 - I don't know that it would be as good with the V1 without gyros.  But there is a rumor of an upgraded motherboard with gyros for the V1 in the works which will also accommodate the TFS, so that may be worthwhile.  The battery life seems to be about the same - my home course is very hilly and I typically end up with 2 lights left (same was the case with the V1).  My friend that bought the V1 is very happy with it.  But he doesn't know what he is missing 🙂

Two rounds in with my V2 (without TFS - not received yet) and have to say it is awesome.  I also did the front swivel kit for my 3.5+ and so far it is flawless.  I do have hills on my course and the wheelie bar attachments were a great addition.  Highly recommend the V2!

Was wondering what thoughts are on a V1 that has been updated with a V2 motherboard, V2 remote, still with V1 battery. It would be about $400 less than a V2

I upgraded mine and I would highly recommend doing it to anyone considering it. It’s really easy to do the upgrade and makes a huge difference in performance
