Sooooo, after playing Titleist T300 for a year. Now the repair shop says they might be fake.

So I just left his place. And I spoke with him . And everything is starting to make sense. He is using a one of those soft wire mesh scourer ball. Why he has been using that. I don’t know why.  But he says he’s been cleaning it like that with all his irons. And truth be told. His other sets of irons look just like his current T300. Its just mind boggling for sure. But at the end of the day. He doesn’t care how the irons look. It performs just fine for him. He only cared about whether the irons were real or counterfeit.

Makes sense now.

Be a good friend and get him a new brush...  these work great, stiff enough to remove dirt, but soft enough to never scratch the plastic cavity back inserts.  Been using these for years on my clubs....

A frogger brush works great too!  I clean my 0211s and the rest with bucket of hot soap and water after every round.  I also use neoprene iron covers, clubs look FANTASTIC with only wear on the face and sole, would never be able tell the amount of rounds on them and zero bag chatter.

They're real, but they’re not spectacular.

I’m gonna help him try to clean it up as best as possible with a Dremel with a polish pad and Flitz. Will post pics of results. Anyone have any tips? Was just gonna tape the face off. And go to town with the polish and the dremel.

Sounds like you got the right idea. Just old fashion elbow grease.

I’m not sure it’s just the cleaning process. I’d be willing to bet he’s hitting off mats pretty frequently. Hate those things personally. Bad for you clubs and your swing.

He does hit off of mats every time we go to the range. He is usually going 3 times a week.

Update on the polish job+30 pack of Coors light.

Still needs some work. And should have probably stopped after 24. But the after results still look better then previous.

He’s definitely a toe hitter and it shows.

Any suggestions on cleaning them up some more would be greatly appreciated.

It’s going to be hard to get any of the surface abrasion off the soles... you’re getting into refinishing at that point. You could take some super fine grit sand paper and wet sand them, but if that’s the case, maybe wait until the next case of beer. 😂

Looks A LOT better! After 30 silver bullets , I’d probably been accidentally working on the grips! Haha

Get a couple Scotch Brite “green pads” and go to town. It’ll help get more of the swirls out On the sole but it will also turn any chrome areas to a satin-ish finish. Then the scratches won’t be as noticeable.

He a, definitely has a different outlook after this. We seriously polished up 3 other sets of irons he has. And they turned out pretty nice. No where near brand new look. But it’s a total night and day difference.
