Roast my swing ( and me if desired ) full critique please

Here’s a slo mo of my swing,
I’m new to golf so I’m humbly asking for a full breakdown of all the things I’m doing wrong. 

 

any tips, tricks, advice, anything is welcomed and appreciated 

 

The one consistent thing I notice is that the ball goes high right every time. Sometimes curves right in the air 

 

please any help would be great. 

 

oh and please don’t say quit, that’ll just make me try harder and I’ll never see my family.

You do a lot of good things, but that camera angle is very weird. Keep that front arm straight. Some pros can get away with a slight bend and still get back to square, but as amateurs, we're not that good. Keep that elbow locked and it will naturally shorten your backswing.

Certainly not the worst swing I have ever seen. The camera angle is a bit funky, so it's hard to tell, but it looks like you are coming into the ball pretty well, and your position at contact is pretty decent. It's clear you have athletic ability.

 

If you are looking for a "technical fault" or something to work on, I would agree with @BraxtonFullerton above. That elbow bend in the backswing is a clear problem.

Ok cool thank you guys for taking the time to look at that. I’ll try to practice keeping left arm straight and get a better angle for videos and update in a week or so

In addition to what the guys said above, the second half of the backswing needs a bit of love to. In that second half you stop turning are losing a lot of posture by standing/straightening up quite a bit, which puts you in a very unathletic position at the top when you arguably need to be in the MOST athletic position. You are actually rotating pretty well from there, but a lot of power is being given up because of weight transfer issues. Everything should be turning back in to and loading up in that right hip/leg, and while it looks like you start in that direction with your takeaway, you stall halfway through and lose that source of power and balance by the time you get to the top. 

The angles are obviously different, but compare the lower bodies here:



With Rory, it is clear where the weight and load is at the top; right thigh and hip with his belt buckle facing 45*+ away from the ball. That is a position that looks primed to produce power. Your position at the top unfortunately has none of that. Legs are pretty straight up and down, weight seems fairly evenly distributed when it should be ~80/20 rear/front, and your shoulder turn is very shallow....all things that are sapping your power and causing that high right ball flight. The rest of the swing tells the same story as without that loaded position at the top, you can't really do much coming down. Your hips actually turn pretty well, but you're mostly just throwing your arms and your weight shift mirrors how the swing started in that it starts moving forward but then stops and actually looks like it moves backwards again at impact. Engaging your body (particularly legs) and using the big muscles to rotate into a powerful position at the top is the key to setting everything up correctly, and you will gain tons of power by doing so.

Try taking your pice from face on (centered on your sternum) and from down the line. There are several tutorials that can help you here with just a little search. Good luck.
