First review from Michael Newton on YouTube and he is not a fan of the performance as much as the looks and sound. He tested the 10.5 heads though so I do not know how much to make of it.

I watch his reviews but I often do not

agree with him. His testing seems to match up with his preconceived notions. In his head to heads, I think he regularly goes with the opposite of what I would do!

Way too late of a release. Most people have their shiny new Callaway, Tmade, Ping or Titleist driver. Huge marketing fail IMO. It won’t sell just like their other drivers and will be half off by the end of the year. I was pumped about them but waiting months while all other brands are releasing theirs is a head scratcher for me.

It’s a bit more fade biased than what I’m used to with ping. Could be the lie angle but zero complaints so far.

That and the face angle: it's 1° open in STD compared to the square face with the X. Also the lie angle is definitely flatter: 56.5° at STD (the X is 59°).

Regarding the face angle of the ST-Z..with the ST200 I got a 9.5 knowing I'd have to loft up and close the face some, but I even had to go up to 11.5 to get it where I wanted..that thing was way open imo.....Does anyone know if the STZ is similar? Not necessarily a bad thing just looking for a starting loft

Hi all, and thanks for a great thread!

I'm wondering if anyone can compare the 2021 ST-X (or ST-Z, though I imagine I'm favouring the X in my deliberations) with the 2020 ST-G. Are they different beasts entirely? Is it worth getting last year's club for the adjustability (I haven't played in a while and like to tinker with things), or is it better to go with a more time-refined version (2021 non-adjustable) thinking that Mizuno must have dropped the adjustable weights for a reason. I've seen that both are still available if one looks around.

Many thanks

I will be posting a review of the X later today. Going out for my second round with it shortly. Would have posted something after my first round, but I was really not playing well, so held off. I will say that my first drive with it, very early morning, no range time, was an absolute bomb. Haven't been that excited playing golf in years. Unfortunately, didn't hit another good drive the entire round, but I truly believe that I was just destroyed after that first swing, if that makes any sense at all.

I can give an update, but haven't done a comparison on the X and Z. I have the X. I recently changed the shaft, and now this driver is just perfect for me. I've sold my TS3 and now selling my 917d3 which I never thought I'd do, but the X is just so good. Only knock I can give it is the lack of adjustability, particularly compared to Titleist. I've managed to get it set up good enough for me though.

The ST-220G will soon be released, and it looks like it's going to be well received as well.

The 220G gives you that adjustability. I just need the right shaft in mine. Have a TPT Golf 17 series that needs an adapter change-out to fit into the 220G from the Mizuno-THP Experience 10 days ago.
