P7MC vs TC 201

Hi all,  I was recently fitted into both Taylormade P7MC or Miura TC 201.  Playing with KBS C-Taper 120 stiff shafts.  I was wondering if anyone has tested both and has any comments as to which perform better etc.  I'm really torn between the two, both are great clubs....... I just need a little convincing either way to get me over the line.

I have the TC-201's (4-6) paired with MB-101's (7-PW) and a set (4-PW) of the P7MC's.  Both sets have the MMT 105TX (soft stepped) installed.  One thing that stood out to me was the offset on the 201's.  More than I expected, and more than the MC's.  To me, they both feel great off a good strike, with the Miura's having a slightly more solid feel, and the TM's a slightly softer feel.  Of course, all of this is subjective.  The ball also has an effect on it as well, of course.

 

I'm not going to be helpful here, as I like them both, but for different reasons.

Assuming cost isn't a factor, I personally would go with the TC-201, I think it's an outstanding iron and I personally really liked the solid feel they provide.

 

I will say the day I tried them I was swinging well, vs not so well when I tried the TM offering.

How do you find the soles on both?  I am very much a picker and notice that the Miura sole widths are a lot bigger than the P7MC, especially in the longer irons.  I too found the P7MC to be softer which was not what I was expecting, I was expecting the pure softness of the Miura's to win through but agree they feel more solid.

I can't speak to the soles in comparison, because with only the 4-6, I'm not taking much of a divot with them anyway.  I describe the Miura's as a non-clicky mini sledgehammer

Can’t speak of the tc201 but I have both the mc501 and p7mc. I prefer the mc501 to the p7mc. To be honest I am thinking of returning my p770/mc combo and ordering a set of t100-s. I have worked on shallowing my swing and irons with the preworn leading edge tend to play better for me.
