First "real" junior set.

I have a 7 year old who is is 52" tall. I want to get his first set of quality junior clubs. I'm looking at flynn, uskg, and ping. My question is should I go ahead and get a full iron set or just like 5,7,9 or some combination like that. He is just starting to take the game more serious and we are hoping by this time next year he can start to play some local junior stuff.

I recall we started with 1w, 3w, 4h, 6, 8, P, sw, putter. Then as he got older we filled in the gaps. I think by 9 he had a full set of 14 clubs. But my kid is short, 11 1/2yo and only 54".

I would go the Flynn Velocity or USKG Ultralight route--pick up a set second-hand on eBay or USKG Outlet or something. D, H, 6,8, P, SW, putter. PM me if you are interested in a USKG UL 54" Driver/hybrid combo that was used for 6 months.

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier. My son started with a Callaway XJ Hot Junior set when he was 6. By the time he was 8, we upgraded him to a full Flynn set and a Cobra F9 Junior Speedback driver.

If your son can already play and has command of the basics, then I can’t recommend the Flynn stuff highly enough. It’s a fantastic product.
