So it's natural for you to whine about production delays of a different product, while discussing and speculating spy photos/info about an unreleased one?

I'm sure people would rather see one post from me telling these people to make a new thread, then to see 20 posts of people complaining again and again because a set of their irons from the same manufacturer are delayed.

Wrong.

haha... and to make my personal head spin even more... that other website released their most wanted today. They didn't include the i500 in this year's testing. So I have no idea how they stack up vs the MP20-HMB

Which 90% means PING didnt submit the I500.  So take that for what you will 😬

The last Ping irons I played were the i20s. I loved them except for one issue: The insert on the back of the club head was applied with a very weak glue. I would constantly pull a club to find that the insert was gone and I would have to send that club back to Ping for repair. I probably did this a dozen times, including sending the same club back multiple times. Has Ping improved their quality control over the past 5-6 years? I'm interested in picking up a set of i210s, but hesitant because they look to have a glued insert as well. Thoughts?

That totally stinks but at least Ping took good care of you.  This is the reason why I do not buy clubs that have badges on the back anymore.  They never seem to hold up well.

I'm in the exact same situation, have I20s but had so many issues with the weights. Not optimal to lose your 7 iron for 3 weeks mid-season.

It will be interesting to see if Ping's current i210 staff migrate over to i59's or if they wait for i210 replacements (paging Mr.Westwood, Mr.Lee Westwood).

Really should follow the LPGA tour to watch for trends on that one though.

The i210s are super popular there (and lets be honest, 99% of us will learn more from watching what they game than the men).

This is pretty simple to me...

It's an iBlade, but made in the style/shape of a Blueprint.

- slightly larger head

- slightly deeper weight

- a little more sole width

Nothing about these says "210". Whoever said this was a 210 "love child"… nah. The i230 will be its own beast. The Blueprints were always a limited run in that size, etc. (The clue is in the name.)

I'd expect for Ping to have an alternating 4-5 year cycle in the "tour" category between ultra-player (like BP) which are small-run, and then the more common tour, (s59->55, iBlade, i59). In fact, in 2024, be on the lookout for i58's. 🙂

However I think there's a growing market for the i2x0 series. The legitimacy the 210's have had… maybe one of their GOAT irons really, is one that many look at and prefer. So a 5 SKU iron run seems to be the method now. 7xx for hollow, 4xx for many, 2xx for better strikers, 5x for tour, and bp stuff for "prototypes"/not often in the fitting cart.

And as it should be. That's the better way to cast the wider net. Ping will always sell more 4xx style clubs than any other, but the rest influence that decision, and the 2xx/5x/protos are always going to be a mix & match scenario.

Just my opinion but, from what I’ve seen, it appears to be larger than the iBlade. It seems closer in size to the i210. Could this be a blend of the i210 and i500?

When I look at the close up pic of Hovland's bag, the almost look smaller (thinner) than iblade to me.

Ya, @Nessism pointed this out, and there's a discussion that the 3-6 have an insert.

I thought it was lead tape.

The part that doesn't wash with me on that rumour is the club pictured here looks to be about a 9 or PW.

So it will certainly be interesting to see pics come out!

I believe the guy in the other thread said the 3-6 are injected and 7-p will have the insert.

Ah, you're right… which would fit.

It does also set apart Blueprints as one-piece, vs tech for flight.

Not smaller than iblade, they look slightly bigger. Hovland was always in the iron that was a step up in forgiveness from the iblade/s series. I would be surprised if these are iblade replacements.

If 3-6 are injected and they are iblade replacements that is a big gamble on Pings part. Tour players who prefer a smaller players club tend to shy away from that type of tech in their irons.

Yeah I’m not sure what to think about them yet.  I’ll probably continue to play my i200/iblades for the season and wait until more information comes out.

When Hovland was in college he played a full set of iblades and then went into a set of iblades long irons and i210 short irons before going to the custom i210s.

Yeah I think it’s an insert too now. To me, it looks like there’s an insert there that’s completely hidden, and the rectangular indentation is a representation there to let you know there’s an insert under the hood in that location. Could be wrong, I love speculating about it though. Definitely excited to see more pics come out.
