Yes, DD lost their Ping account for awhile several years ago for selling at a discount.  I believe it was for a full year.

Ian on TXG said yesterday that another Ping iron will be released after the 1st of the year. He even clarified it was not the G425. As I've heard through real sources multiple times, the i59/iBlade replacement is coming.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully it will be revealed before the spring so I can decide between it and Srixon ZX's.

Wouldn't be the first time we saw nothing from Ping prior to release. They don't let much get leaked.

G425's didn't hit the conforming list until late August. Could still see something in February.

Any shaft option changes?  Probably spoiled by Mizuno but seems like everything is a (substantial) upcharge for Ping.  Been better than years past, but still.

That is one of their biggest weaknesses. Outlandish shaft upgrade charges!

I too don't like the upcharges but when you consider iBlade/i210/410 etc are all $125 per club, they are still well below today's market prices. The i500s and Blueprints are higher though.

I mostly agree, however the former are all cast clubs (don't want this to turn into a cast vs forged debate), and with the high shaft upgrade costs these then become significantly more expensive than similar cast clubs from most other brands.

 

Ping's "forgings" are then dramatically more expensive, especially when compared with similar forgings from other companies.

Playing Mizuno blades for years, but these (and the Blueprints) look so pure. Feedback I go was that you tend to hit a flyer? ie distance control is not what it normally is with a more traditional blade. Any thoughts / experience with this?

I haven’t had any issues with flyers. Once you get used to the added distance. You will be amazed. I hit my 7 iron between 180 and 190 in normal conditions depending on how hard I go at it. What a relief it is to stand on the tee of of a long par 3 and not feel like ya have to rip a long iron. I can also work the ball easily. These baby’s are legit IMO.

My Edwin Watts told me ordering starting mid-January.  The guy that told me this used to work for Ping but got tired of the travel.

I wish they would just show their hand already! I have sold everything except the farm in anticipation of this release. 

 

PING told me accounts would have G425 fitting heads by mid-December and orders would start shipping mid-January. I don't know anything about i series stuff.

Iron shaft selection is ok.  

 

Standard shaft offering on woods is just pathetic, compared to competitors.  And unfortunately, their uncharge on "exotic" offerings shafts both you and the club.

Ummmm, Nope. Pre-pandemic release where players are waiting months just to get what they've already ordered. If the world were normal the G710 would have likely been Ping's best seller.

I shot 64 65 68 once... add that together then divide by 2 yeah... maybe more then once
