Never gave it much thought. Now that you brought it up I still won’t give it much thought.

All I know is, if I'm playing against you and you're focused on what I'm wearing, well please, tell me more about your likes and dislikes.

This has nothing to do with the Tour or golf. I am a young man and the only time my socks make it past my shoe line is if I am wearing a suit, in which case they will be the most colorful and extravag

I always wear golf pants when playing because they're as cool as shorts and I don't have to wear sunscreen, but I never wear socks except with formal shoes or to the office. Even in the winter, I'll walk out of the drive barefoot in -10C to get something out of the car and walk back in again. My spiked golf shoes on the interior are basically sneakers so I wear them sockless as well.

Not sure why you would care? It's not as though you can see them.

To each their own. I simply said there's no way I'll ever see that as more garish or out of place than the second set of golf outfits posted, many of which are from Tour events.

I feel the same way. I'd never sport this look but to each his own....Amongst my many talents, I'm a professional photographer and know that this is a look Young people enjoy. I take a lot of Prom pics. Not since Don Johnson on Miami Vice has this look been more popular...

Who looks back on their prom pictures and doesn’t say “What was I thinking?”

What's with the upper case Sox?  Some special online product you are peddling, or some newly discovered skin color, or maybe an unnamed MLB team?

Well, ordinarily we simply write stockings. Yes, some folks prefer, coz they can't spell well, sox.  We understand but don't do Sox. Plz.

I actually went back and changed the capital S to small case twice. Soon as I hit submit I noticed it being upper case again. I think you are on the right track with the MLB idea.

Every pro golfer is a walking billboard/endorsement for their apparel company these days...there is very little sense of real style out there.

I don't blame them...free clothes, a bunch of cash and, and I'm speculating here, having a 20-something, attractive stylist from your sponsor is hard to turn down!

I'm not a young pup, but not an old timer either and my take on this is that golfers should wear whatever they want on the course(minus tank tops), unless there is a dress code for the course.  Golf is meant to be enjoyed by people from all walks of life, not just the wealthy.

I hate wearing socks.  Sock free all summer even in MyJoys wingtips

will wear flip flops until snow arrives

only wear pants golfing if it is 45 or below.  If I have to wear pants golfing when it’s brisk out ... only go with sockettes

though in the winter I will wear socks to match sweaters for sh_ts and giggles

Couldn’t really care less what type of socks someone wears on the golf course. I have all types and will wear them as I feel necessary. Summers, I would almost always been in short socks whether I am wearing trousers or shorts. In the winter, there is no way I am wearing the short socks, getting a gust of wind rattling around my ankles is not something I am keen on. On really cold mornings during the winter, I have worn kilt socks which go up just below the knee.
