Personally, the MB’s look stunning and the X Forged look terrible. Actually, I haven’t liked the X Forged line since 2013. That’s just my opinion. I’m sure they play great and feel great.

I see a set of Apex MB’s with KBS Black $-Tapers in my future.

Agree 13' was the year for the x forged. I also think they did a great job with the regular Apex 19's , and the ability to mix them with loft adjusted Apex pros. I wonder if they'll come out with a new version of both for 21' too. But maybe not since they waited a full 3 years from the previous Apex.

So for me the MB has a bit less bounce than the prior generation which is great for my swing.  Maybe a hair less offset, they could also just be blended a bit differently.  Absolutely love them, I would compare the feel to that of my Apex Pro Dots.  That being said the X Forged is an amazing iron as well... Incredible feel and launch.... the slight offset doesnt bode well for my strong grip, left favoring golf swing.  If they had a dot version with a little bit thinner sole and less offset they would be in the bag.  Also one more thing... I have added the new utility iron in 24 degrees to replace the 4 iron... A thing of beauty!

@speeder717 how does the shape of the X forged CB's compare to prior generations? Are they exactly the same as the most recent X forged or do they have more of a '09 '13 X forged look?

They sit very flush to the ground which I love... nice square leading edge which I believe was more like the prior generations of  x Forged... the blade is beautiful, nice and full, clean top line and great transition from the 7-8 iron and beyond... just a great job.

Thanks Speeder717 for sharing the photo's. I'm sure there will be many Cally Fan boys jumping all over these but for someone looking to buy new irons may not be so quick to jump on the bandwagon. The MC look like TaylorMade's of yesterday I mean seriously they do, where did they're bolt go/at the end of the head to fill it with the super distance jell. The X-Forged CB looks like a Home Depot project but I'm sure these perform nicely if you get fitted that is so Hope you enjoy your new clubs and great pictures.

hit the demo 7i MB today with an Evelvate 105S, not my usual shaft but same weight, i really enjoyed hitting the club felt nice on center strikes & even miss hits (i did a few of those) felt ok also, kudos to Cally for making the MB and X Forged both brushed satin finish, someone in R&D had their thinking cap on.

saw the new UT in a 21 degree version as well, most definitely more chunky and fatter sole than the 2018 version, can see the muscle (screw plate thingy) at address, but to my eyes the blade length did look shorter than the 2018 model, could be wrong as i have had the 21 degree out of the bag for a while now.

looking in Callys direction with baited breath now to see what they do with the new Apex Pro, would love if they do brushed satin on the new alteration as well, so one could combo with the blade.

@speeder717what shaft (s) did you get in them?

I can see the similarities that's for sure. Callaway will be utilizing the weight port as an additional tool for fitting and making adjustments. The weight ports and what not of any brand of club have never bothered me as long as they cannot be seen at address.  This is coming from a guy who used to be on staff with PXG so I am just driven on performance alone.  I know the adjustability is not everyone's cup of tea but I can tell you one thing, they feel great and look great.... I feel like the turf interaction is a bit better than prior generations as well.

So when you place an order can you buy a weight set or is this something that will come later with the option to buy. That's pretty cool I mean if your into adjustable irons as I like it in my B21 driver but I also like a bonded driver as well as nothing is going to beat my Ryoma Max II driver. Maybe TaylorMade should of had that option years ago then they would still be selling some sort of adjustable like irons.

Having both sets, if I went with a combo cb/mb with 4-6 cb 7-mb is there a big difference at the split? Difference I guess in feel for one between the two irons, and obviously I’m assuming a quite noticeable difference from address.

have you found you are about a half club longer with the cb over mb?

i am probably a +2, played various mini tours etc and pretty weary to put the 4/5 mb in play.

normally a C Taper 130X guy, but likely  gunna give the PX LS 6.5’s a go.

Currently play the 19’ Apex Pros and really enjoy them.  For those playing the new CB, how do they compare, in all aspects?

Not sure if should look at a CB/MB combo set or just wait for the 2021 APEX Pros!  Anyone got any intell of upgrades on the new Apex Pros and what upgrades they will have over the 19’s?  Also, how do the new ones look?

I played the Apex Pros from last year.  The X Forged CBs I have in the bag now are way more forgiving and feel much more solid.  The CBs have a narrower sole with more bounce so they play better from bad lies than the Apex Pros.

The X Forged CB long irons look perfect but the 9 iron and wedge take a little getting used to.  So far I think they are a winner and can't see them getting knocked out of my bag anytime soon.  I did have to bend them a touch weak compared to my Apex Pros because they are a touch longer.

How did the offset look in person?

Thanks for the feedback, can never get a little bit more extra forgiveness in the longer irons.   I’m really leaning towards a CB/MB combo with the MMT stock shafts.  Currently play Recoil 95 shafts in my Apex 19 Pros so I’m hoping to drop to 85g will be a comparable transition.

Not nearly as much offset as the photos show.  The 9 iron and wedge have a little different transition from the hosel into the face but it took me all of three or four rounds to not notice it.  The long irons have noticeably less offset than the 19 Apex Pros.

I've got about 12 rounds under my belt with the X Forged CBs now and they are clearly better than than the 19 Apex Pros.  They took the things - wide sole, jumpy feeling face - that I didn't like about the Apex Pros and made them perfect.  I absolutely love the feel of the CBs.

How would you say the cb's compare to the 19 apex pros in regards to top line/sole/offset?

The Apex pro is a really gorgeous iron. One of the best looking irons I have ever seen. They certainly have a beefier look than the x Forged and more offset as well. For some reason I have always played better with a thin soled less offset club so I’ll stick with the MBs as my gamers... but wouldn’t be shocked if I messed around with the Apex Pro because they are so darn pretty 😍

Any idea if Dot (or even double dot) versions will pop up like the last version with less offset etc.?

Would not be needed for the MB, but I could see the tour players who are interested in the Apex Pro wanting some of the offset pushed out. No clue if we would ever see it come to retail.

I hit the new x-forged CB iron for just one session; it feels soft but somehow a little “jumpy” from the face on solid contacts. I will do a more comprehensive test and comparison this weekend when I have access to a TrackMan, to compare with other irons in the same class. Overall I am a little disappointed that the clean look and single-piece-forging in traditional x-forged iron are no more. I am also frustrated in the seemingly countless variations in one model: apex pro, apex pro dot, apex pro 2 dots, and likely x-forged cb DOT version to reduce the offsets.

By any chance do you know the bounce specs for the 21’ MB’s ?
