New wilson irons?

You just seem so adamant about what they have to do to restore peoples faith in their brand, like you were really hoping to see that change in peoples perspective, so it would make sense that you would try and help.

I feel you. I like people to be educated, but these products (from every company) really need to stand on their own feet. I will always present them all equally.

Back to the topic at hand, the more I look at these the more I like them. I felt the V6 could be a little draw bias so hearing they have scooted the CG further from the heel along with the looks of these has me really looking forward to this release!

I hope they sell well as they used to always be a top contender but like Cobra they are so underrated. I know they don't have the big investment in marketing like your other big name companies like well you know who but your Wilsons, Cobra, Tour Edge, Mizuno's, Srixon's are all every bit as good if not better than the bigger names out there.

I’m looking forward to trying these in January.  Hopefully the release doesn’t get pushed back.  I’ll be in market for a new set come the new year so seeing the recent and future releases across the brands is real exciting.

so if i were to make these 2 degrees stronger in lofts would they become diggers or would it not matter? really curious on that??

I just retired my ci6 irons after 5 years. I have a soft spot for the brand now since they were my first set of irons, and I will play another set eventually. The W/S woods not so much. I agree with many in here that they need to revamp that area of their lineup.

These probably won't be readily available where I live, but I really like the idea of a 3i for a tee-shot/driving iron. They look really good to me as I don't like bulky-looking clubs.

Did I see a 2i in the spec sheet?

The structure on the back does serve a purpose. Basically the same concept as other designs have used, so it is really about how good can they make the stabilizing bars look? TM made it a design feature in their M5 iron, for example, but it stuck way out and got knocked for looking weird, but it worked. Wilson’s version is far more appealing to me. I also like the set gap wedge. Very useful.

Based on the rounded sole design of the Wilson’s I would not expect any digging. I have my V6’s 1* strong and it wasn’t noticeable. Best sole design out there IMO and probably the main reason I switched to the v4 Several years back.

My V6's are bent 2* strong and I noticed no difference in turf interaction.

Always loved the Staff blades just wished they would do a nicer looking cavity back and looks like they have, might consider getting those.

Both Wilson CB and Srixon ZX7 are both definite must try irons for me.  I'll bet both sets are great.

This right here.  I imagine a lot of us would probably best be served by checking these two offerings out.  If only Ping would get their you know what together, it could get real interesting...

Couldn’t agree more, srixon and these are at the top of my list. I did get to try a JPX  921 SEL (tour) 7-iron this weekend, and it was also pretty sweet. But the previous two will likely be the top contenders for my winter iron set purchase.

The new CB's look great but I doubt if there is enough of a improvement over my V6's to switch.

I was down in my local shop the other day here in Finland and thought back to this discussion so I snapped a pic. It amazes me Wilson has zero pesence in a golf galaxy when every golf shop Ive been in in Finland has something like this (yes, even bigger than ping in the next aisle!)

May be too soon if no one has seen the CB in hand but is the head size the same as the V6 or did they tweak head size on the CB?

To me everything looks to be about the same except for the badging and the change in the tungsten placement is different. I love how easy the V6 long irons are to hit with the split tungsten.

I'd like to see a side by side comparison done by someone! If I was in the market for a new set of irons, I'd totally combo the Staff Blades and these! Wilson makes some really great irons and I wish they'd get the recognition they deserve!
