Bumping this thread...

Picked up a set of heads from a member here.  They arrived today and I immediately brought them to my builder to get treated right.  Just waiting on some bb&f ferrules along with some fresh grips.

Pic here is of the 8i.  Beautiful!  The transition from hosel to leading edge is pretty fantastic!

Only pics I have are before the heads were pulled.  The heads are currently with my builder getting built up.

Drop dead gorgeous shape.

Wilson - for my eye - is the only manufacturer that could beat Mizuno in terms of shape

I've now played two 9-hole rounds and hit three large bucket of balls on two occasions with these irons.  Everything's stock.  I'm also working with a golf instructor on my swing, so lots of changes going on.  The clubs feel good in my hands, I like the look at address, and solid hits feel great.  I'm very impressed with dispersion.  I spent about three hours with the pitching wedge around the practice green and it's fast becoming my favorite club.  I'll get more play in when the cold front that moved in recently makes way for warmer temps.

Here are a few more pics of the cb’s.  Took them out today for the first time and I’m very pleased with them.  Great feel,

soft as anything when hit out of the middle, strong ball flight and surprisingly forgiving for such a compact shape.  Especially on thin shots.  So smooth through the turf!  Just an outstanding iron that lots of people will not even give a chance.

These are firmly in the bag this season.

I posted in this thread previously about my affinity for my Wilson CBs, which I listed on the BST forum (no bites yet) because they have unsurprisingly been unseated by Cobra King Tour MIMs.  If anyone is interested in them please let me know, I'd like for them to go to a WRXer before listing on eBay.

I bought a set of CB’s (4-GW) and they are fantastic. I do struggle a bit with the 4, and sometimes 5 irons. Anybody try D7 forged in the long irons to combo? Loft differences are significant but I wouldn’t mind a little more consistent distance up top.

I did this in my set.  Had my club builder bend the D7 5 iron 1.5 degrees weak to get it to 26 degrees, so that it blends much better with my 6-P of the model cb.  I highly recommend it.  Not only does doing this reduce the offset of the D7, but I find that I get similar distance with the D7 that I was getting the model cb 5 iron.  I won’t tell you that the D7 feels quite the same as the model CB, but it’s close enough that it won’t make a difference.  Good luck with whatever direction you go.  Wilson has really outdone themselves with these irons.  I’ve tried most everything that’s out right now and I don’t think anything is better.

@PNDUBGLFR did you notice any significant advantage with the D7 Forged, I.e. more consistency or hitting your distance numbers more regularly? That would be my hope in doing so.

Definitely.  When I got the model cb’s the set was 4-P. I knew I wouldn’t need the 4 iron because I have a srixon utility iron in the bag, so I started out having the 5-P of the model cb’s in the bag.  I hit the 5 iron of the model CB similar distance to the D7, but I’m way more consistent and don’t notice nearly as much distance drop off when I don’t put a good swing on the ball.  The D7 5 iron is my 190-195 club, so I feel much better with that in my hands standing on the tee on long par 3’s/short par 4’s.

Well I bit the bullet and bought them today . I was gaming 716 ap2 and was all excited to try the T100. Much to my chagrin the new Titleist are clicky clicky clicky... so I tried the Wilsons and they are unbelievable in the feel Department and a lovely compact blade
