How many birdies in a season?

And I work 40 to 50 hours a week!

I too, work a 40 hour week. I'm only at about 105 rounds this season. Though being from NY, I cannot play year-round. So maybe that's the difference.

Is "not enough" a valid answer?

I actually track that too - the "superscore" on all the courses I played. I actually was able to pull off birdie or better on every hole on my home course this season. I had one hole left to go, hole

For sure. I'm from Southern California. Most years we can play 355 days. Our worst years it's maybe 345? As I've gotten older, I prefer 3 days a week, max or up to four in the warm months with the long days. Major back issues mean I have trouble playing more than two days in a row.

Just got a medial branch nerve block yesterday. Back and sciatica already 90% better. Hoping for long-term relief.

Oh man, back issues for a golfer are no joke. Hope you feel better!

And I know how you feel. I spend most mornings with a heat pad, and then a foam roller on my back in order to keep things loose enough to play golf.

My best 3 years I averaged just over 4.1 birdies per round- the most being 4.18, 226 total.  Once I reached 50 and played more golf from shorter tees this was the result.  I had 12 eagles one year and usually have between 45-60 rounds that I count for my stats.  Only 3 years did I average less than 2 bogies per round.  One year it was an absurd 1.61 (gamer soft). Most under par that year at -122.  Each year my goal is more eagles than doubles. Playing the same usual courses is a big reason.  So even though I am a +2 it wouldn't travel as well as a lot of guys HC do.  This year my best round had 6 birdies and 2 eagles.  Wish I knew why I putted so well that day... Just got new glasses and seem to see the putts better now.  But we are in rye season now and I always putt better on rye than bermuda.

golf is strange, I had less eagles this year for the whole year than I had in May last year (I had a crazy month and made 7 of them).  The 7 wood was en fuego IIRC

Yes I know those averages are high but I am playing courses 6-7 shots easier on the course rating than the guys who make a living. Last weekend I had 4 birdies in my men’s league on a 6200 yd course. But I missed 6 putts inside 15 feet. I think if more players played appropriate length courses they could make more birdies too. My gir avg is almost always between 12.5 and 13.5 per round. I have won city amateur tourneys and senior city tourneys.
but like I said my HC doesn’t travel like a lot of guys because I play the same 5 or 6 courses a lot.

According to Grint, I've played 38 18 hole rounds this season (some combined). I made 38 birdies. I double counted both to make sure that was right and it was, so exactly one a round. I'm at my lowest HI of the year (5.8), was about an 8 at the beginning of the season through mid-July and have slowly brought it down from there.
