Low spin vs. High spin

Struggling with driver accuracy. I typically use a higher spin golf ball (Bridgestone Tour B-XS). I love what I get from 120 and in, but I am considering a change to a lower spin profile. Could this mitigate some of the issues off the tee by reducing spin (obviously a better swing is preferred)? What are some balls I should be considering? Thanks.

Probably would need some more info to answer this question. Do you have LM numbers on your driver SS, spin rate, and launch angle? What shot shape do you typically play off the tee box?

The answer to your question is no. The difference between a high spin ball and low spin ball on the driver is only going to be a couple hundred RPM. That's going to make no perceptible difference in the amount of curvature with a driver.

Don't think a golf ball is going to fix problems with tee shots unfortunately.

Fix swing, ball won't matter very much off driver.  OP didn't say driver/shaft combo, provide any numerical data, but if you haven't tried a modern low spin driver/shaft combo, maybe that would help.

 

I'm a fairly high spin player and did pick up some distance (accuracy hasn't been a problem for me) going to a SZ driver, YMMV.

The higher the loft, the higher the delta between low spin and high spin balls.  All premium balls are designed to have low spin off of the driver.  Golfers swings are far less consistent than the differences you would see in spin between models off of a driver.

I just recently switched from BXS to TP5x and my drives seem to fly straighter. The TP5x is a little more difficult to shot shape however.
