For what it’s worth, they have a super premium head cover and they have really nice milling marks. They are a step above the old white hot pro.

Oh wow, they did spruce it up. I have a "collection" of Odysseys, and am a stickler about having the corresponding putter cover it was released with. I have a White Hot XG #1 and am not a fan of it's cover. If I don't grab one of these putters, I might have to grab one of these headcovers when they show up on EBay!!

This is the list from my old #7 thread from 2016 here in the forums. My ranking of #7 with softest to hardest insert.  I know Odyssey has several new versions since 2016 but I haven’t updated it with microhinge, White Hot Microhinge etc. Might do it later.

The purpose of this list is where we should put the new OG insert. I have a really hard time to believe they could reproduce the old original White Hot insert. There are several interviews with Odyssey staff from 2008-ish explaining why they couldn’t produce the original one anymore. Just by the looks on close ups of this OG series it looks like they have taken the White Hot Pro insert (which is the only of the old inserts that has continued to be produced) and put them in this OG collection.

Anyone that have the original White Hot, the WHP and the new OG that can confirm?

List of Odyssey #7 from softest to hardest up to 2016:

White Hot RX

Original White Hot XG

White Hot Tour/Black Series i

White Hot Pro/Versa/White Hot XG2

Original White Hot

White Ice

Works

White Steel

Milled collection

Metal X milled

Metal X

Oh yeah, I remember the thread. My feeling is OG will be in the top half (or third) of the list.

I am not just have a friend that happens to be a rep for them. I agree 100% with you though, why not release before holidays?

It seems like only company who releases new products ahead of the holiday season is Titleist, and that is often only their Metal Woods or Irons updates (not wedges or SC putters).

I mentioned something similar in the other thread, I don't think it would hurt OEMs to start releasing their new putter line-ups in time for the gift giving seasons (Christmas, Fathers and Mothers' Days). I'm sure lots of people get clubs for Christmas and golfers like new and shiny. These will be nearly a year old on shop racks by the time Christmas '21 rolls around.

I've always been massive on this. Clubs coming out in February or after seems so stupid to me. Why not release early Nov, push demo days etc with clubs arriving for Xmas! I understand USA climate is different to ours here in Australia and seasons etc but surely it's a better suited time. How many pro golfers take time off over Xmas break and work on their setups,  surely amateur's would want to be more like the pros (we do n nearly every other way) . I always re look at my bag this time of year and change grips etc as I hardly play between mid December and mid January.

I can understand holding back major lines things for the shows, but I think when it comes to wedges and putters, getting the clubs in stores for Christmas would be a benefit.

While no one would mistake the OGs for an expensive putter, the extra milling marks and finish looks nice. The DFX grip is what tons of people have asked for too. The headcover is the best stock one they’ve ever done - it’s quality and looks great.

If the price on these is $150-200 (and it should be for the non stroke labs), I think Odyssey will have a massive hit on their hands. I have no problem with Odyssey doing $250-$450 putters but they just do this price range so much better IMO. Not everything needs to be a Scotty or Bettinardi. When people side by side the OG insert vs other stuff out there they will sell plenty of these in all shapes and sizes.

I can confirm the OG 2 ball feels sweet. Cool little milling marks on the lower level of the putter too. Love the grip!

Two ball has still got to be one of the nicest putter shapes there are. I am quite suprised they almost vanished from the PGA Tour, while its still very popular with the ladies. Somehow, the longer I look into Tour WITB, the more I recognize how much more interesting the LPGA and LET bags are than the mens bags.

Looks like the price is $220, or $270 for stroke lab. That’s.... a lot. Like I said above, my OG 2-ball looks nice but I feel like they should have gotten it under $200. The finish and milling on different surfaces looks really good though. It’s very similar to the silver Protype range.

Would have definitely been nice if they had brought back the 2002 OG pricing.  I guess 20 years brings ~$100 worth of inflation with it.
