Dirt cheap rangefinders on Amazon. Worth it?

I have had two Caddy Tecs from Costco and both worked just as well as my Leupold did.  They are spot on with my buddies Bushnell, always within a yard and it is super fast.  Has the jolt feature.  Hard to beat for the money and can't go wrong with Costco's return poilicy.

UPDATE

My Wosports cheapo rangefinder died at the most inopportune moment. I was on my bucket list trip to Bandon. I carried it on in my backpack so it wouldnt get crushed in my golf bag. It worked for the first day and halfway through the second day. Then on the third day, it stopped working. Total disappointment. I tried changing the battery, but to no avail. Had this happened on a normal muni, weekend round, no big deal. But this was really tough. 😞

I had bought a cheap one and it was disappointing. I saw a new product review on Youtube and gave it a shot (FineCaddie UPL100, $159)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08978NCGK?ref=myi_title_dp

Just got it and it works amazing, distance is spot on.  Don't spend under $100 otherwise you'll get a crap.

Just stop buying the really cheap ones, and pick up the CaddyTek from Costco.  Been totally reliable for me over the years, and the current gen has the "jolt" feature.

Just got a catalog from MG Golf and they have a new model rangefinder the MG800S (https://www.mggolf.com/gps-rangefinders/#MG800) that on the catalog says its $119.95 but just looked at their website and its $114.95 there.  Pin lock w/vibration, magnetic mount, toggle-able slope mode.  They've given it PP colors (black/green).  That's pretty cheap.  I don't have a relationship with them so not shilling but if I were in the market for a new rangefinder (my Bushnell Tour X is getting long in the tooth) I might give this one a look because at the very least if there's any problems with it I'd be dealing with US based customer service.  Never used any of their electronics before so not sure of reliability/quality.  Just use their gloves because they're pretty cheap, good quality and in the humid south Texas air allows me to stay in fresh gloves longer.

Buddy of mine has one of their finders. He's had it for 3 seasons and very happy with it. The price is great.

Quite a number of yrs ago, I spent decent bucks on a Leopold. It sucked, couldn't dial in the flag.

2 yrs got a precision pro with slope. So easy to lock in.

Moral of story. Spending big $$ on a finder was a waste, at least for me.

I've had mixed results with the ones I've purchased. The first one I bought was the millesey and I think it works great for what I use it for. I generally use a gps/scoring app on my phone, but when I'm playing non scoring rounds I use the rangefinder. It works well enough, but is very basic, the slope is always on and it has no flag lock, and no rechargeable battery, no stabilization. I've had it for ~3 years and still works.

I also purchased one that had flag lock, a rechargeable battery and I think it said slope could be turned off. I used it a couple times and put it on the backup/guest bag. Accuracy seemed fine, but the flag lock worked for everything. I'd point it at a tree, vibrate. I'd point it at my foot, vibrate.

I would say my takeaway is use it soon after you purchase it, don't wait until after the return window is closed.
