New England Stay and Play Packages - - ideas?

Hey all -

For the past 15-20 years a group of 12-16 of us have been going to FLA to play for a week.   36 holes/day at a stay/play location (OCN) in March.   Due to the lingering COVID threat - not sure we will travel this year - and ideas of a summer 2021 stay/play in New England (where we all reside) has been brought up.

Anyone know of a good place?   Preferably 36 holes with quick access (ie no driving) to hotel/motel.

Thanks in advance -

The immediate thought is Turning Stone in NY.  Multiple courses (although they are off-site) plus the benefit of the casino right there - would be a fun spot for a group of folks with the added benefit of gambling at night.

Another option would be Cape Cod.  There are a couple of high-end lodging options with built-in access to golf.  Wequasset gets you access to Cape Cod National and Ocean Edge has its own golf course as well.  Then there are other options both with in a reasonable (sub 15 minute) drive from both resorts to get 36 holes.  If you don't want to over-due the lodging (and both of those places are expensive), you can also stay somewhere else and play the amazing muni offerings the cape has to offer and June isn't that crowded on the cape

Lastly, The International in Bolton Mass has 36 holes.  It was a private course that closed this season due to a bankruptcy filing.  Rumor has it a buyer has stepped up and will close the purchase in the next 30 days and plan on re-opening next year.  My understanding is they have lodging on site (50 rooms or so).  If they open as a semi-private, could be a cool spot where you literally can walk from your room to the tee box of two very good golf courses

Honestly, I’d do cabot if you move move outside NE. If not, Mount Washington hotel. Should be a lot more affordable in the summer. Pinehills in Plymouth, Ma may be another option. I would love to see the international open back up as a semiprivate. Hope those rumors are true. Drove by a few weeks back and it was an eerie sight.

Tough one for new england with a "no drive" requirement and resortish. As MMG states, only real option is Mt Washington. THe cape, you are going to have to drive as shuttles are few and far between.

Or, you can find someplace with a few courses, nice hotel, and uber everywhere.

Other than that, closest resort is something like Turning Stone (Resort/Casio - so has a night life of sorts) with 4-5 courses, or, depending on where in NE you actually are, Crystal Springs Resort also with 5 courses, is another suggestion.

Both of those are definitely closer than Cabot (which, may be an issue is Covid is still a treat as it's Canada)

This is a cool topic. I came up with four that haven’t been mentioned.

1. Woodstock Inn, Woodstock, VT. A classic New England town you can walk through when you’re not enjoying the course.

2. Equinox, Manchester, VT. Excellent course, lodging and dining. Van service gets you where you want to go.

3. New Seabury, Mashpee, MA?? Only because I saw guest lodging on their web site. Not at all sure if this meets your needs. Two courses including a wicked fun stretch of holes on the water looking out to Martha’s Vineyard.

4. Ocean House, Watch Hill, RI. Very special place for sure. Web site dangles the prospect of playing at Shelter Harbor which is a top shelf Hurdzan/Fry course. Would be big bucks.

good luck!
