Man - DJ is taking this place apart like it is an executive course or a pitch and putt.   Augusta is not looking so special.

First of all, it's Nantz, not Nance. At least get the guy's name right if you're going to take shots at him to make your opinion have any merit at all.

 

Secondly it may have escaped you that Miller was an analyst, not a host and main anchor. The requirements of the job are very different. Jim Nantz is the best at what he does, directing traffic, keeping the broadcast moving, and being the ultimate professional. Just imagine a broadcast with Miller and Feherty anchoring on 18.

In all seriousness I’m not really getting who they are protecting when they try to limit players getting too long. Like are the courses feelings getting hurt? I still haven’t heard a reason that has any real merit. 
 

If a sprinter shatters the WR for the 100M, it’s not like they make the track uphill, 110M and make the runners wear ski boots.

I have really enjoyed all the tournaments without the fans. Seeing all the yahoos in Houston on the telecast reminded me why.

It just sucks all the emotion out of the players and Augusta itself without fans. I love the visual but that's about it. I might feel different tomorrow on the back nine.

It's part of the whole experience. We all know the course so well, the pin positions, the shots needed, etc. With no reactions it's just not quite right.
