I’d start with eliminating adding flex to the right knee in the backswing and let the right hip turn more freely up and away from the ball and behind you and toward the target.

 

That needs to rectify before working on it not firing out triage the ball in transition.

some severe body angle issues. id start with the right hip as Monte pointed out. But might couple that with understanding what impact should look like. You have to understand where you want to be to understand how to get there. 

 

 

Justin Thomas kind of jumps as well. but the back is rounded. Look how much the hips are turned. The lead arm is still on top of the right. He is attacking the ball from the inside and swinging through it. Not hitting at the ball.

Are those loafers that you are wearing. In recent years golf shoes have “evolved” more towards the comfortable sneaker model, at a possible sacrifice to foot/ ground stability. Loafers may be comfortable and fashionable , but offer little in the way of stability.

 

SETUP

You need a little more knee bend and you need to stick out your butt a little more. This will create a more “ neutral spine “ with a slight ( but noticeable ) amount of lordosis (lower spine curvature) . A “neutral spine “is the position where you are able to rotate most efficiently and where you are least likely to injure your lower back . 

 

TAKEAWAY

Notice that the distance between your hands and your upper thighs increases during your takeaway . This creates a disconnect between your shoulders and your lower body almost right away. Your goal should be to move the hands “relatively straight back “during your takeaway  .The space between your hands and your thighs should increase only a little during takeaway . 

 

TRANSITION

During your transition  you steepen the shaft  ( more vertical) . From that position it is almost inevitable that you EE in order to even hit the ball. 

This steepening of the shaft is cause by a combination of mistakes in your setup and takeaway and by a misunderstanding of how to shallow the shaft in transition. 

Shallowing the shaft in transition is caused by right shoulder external rotation. In English this translates to your right elbow rotating a small amount towards the TARGET LINE and NOT JUST STRAIGHT DOWN during transition . Done correctly the shaft will be less vertical . Feel as though you are losing an arm wrestling contest with your right arm during transition .

Interesting swing. Tbh I’ve seen far worse backswings deliver hugely better impact positions.

 

id prescribe a lot of 9-3 and really feeling the Rotation back through the ball, filming it a lot. I’d also listen to Monte

“Head on the Wall” drill with an awareness of how your trail leg progressively extends from P1 to P4 would be a good start...
