How the best on the planet hit their wedges

Good find.

It reinforced lots of things I learned from Ridyard's scrambling video - these guys were doing plenty of the stuff he teaches - and most notable to me they maintain a lot of the characteristics of their full swing into their scrambling - Ridyard is big on keeping your swing DNA consistent - he uses Sergio and Stricker as two ends of the spectrum.

Just a coincidence but that practice area is where Ridyard filmed his scrambling video and part of his bunker video and the range behind is where he filmed his approach wedge video.

Do you recommend Ridyard's material for learning more about techniuqe? I love his stuff but hard to find any real reviews of it, and its on the expensive side for digital content

Yes.  I paid $100 and got 7 videos.   Scrambling, approach wedges, bunkers,  green reading, putting and two bonus - drills&games, 7 deadly situations.   All are very detailed and at least 30 minutes.   I have iteach and monte stuff  and ridyard provides way more detail - setup, technique, adjustments, lie reading, etc.

$25 bucks each so a $175 package for $100.  Don’t know if he has any deals going on now.

if not interested in putting just getting the scrambling, wedge, and bunker would’ve be well worth it.

Do you think just the scrambling video would be sufficient for learning the basic technique for pitch shots etc or does approach wedges play get into that as well?

Would recommend both.    The bunker shot is a modified high shot from the scrambling - mainly setup so if I was to skip one tHat would be it

Wedges are built off scrambling but there is a lot of info for wedges including how to setup a practice station, etc that are very valuable to be able to control trajectory and distance - definitely not just the 30 yard pitch  extended out.

@Golfbeat- Great video  - thanks for posting it.  After listening to those three players, I learned my chipping is most like Tigers.  I am very handsy, looking to feel my right hand in all my iron shots, and I don't look for a landing spot.  I feel the shot distance and let it happen.

Lots of awesome stuff in there and much of it is counter to what “they say.”

Context....I hear all day long when golfers talk to each other and on my lesson tee, “They say...”. and the circus ensues.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

Pure short game gold here....just wish I would have found it months ago, since where I’m at we’re coming into winter, and outdoor practice is going to be infrequent at best. 🤷‍♂️

A convincing demonstration that the best are born, not made.

If this were the case, then Jason Day wouldn’t need to spend an hour and a half (as stated) practicing his short game every day.
