Silly question about the Masters finishing R1 today

I notice that Tommy Fleetwood is wearing the same clothes he was wearing yesterday. Not sure about anyone else as I just tuned in. But I'm wondering if CBS or AN requested that players finish the round in the same clothes they started in for the sake of visual continuity when highlights and replays are shown for years to come. Basically it would keep them from ever having to explain that the first round in 2020 was played across two days.

I had not heard that but that is an interesting observation.

I would guess that it probably has something to do with their clothing sponsorships and the trend of planning out looks for each round of competition. I wouldn't be surprised if they have some contractual obligation to wear the same outfit for a given round even if that round is interrupted or delayed.

 

But then again, who the hell knows?

For what it's worth I'm wearing the same house clothes today as I was yesterday.

I am not sure why Fleetwood would even agree to put that on.  Looks like Waldo.

Now that I've watched more of today's coverage I think some players wore their Thursday clothes and some their Friday clothes. With only 20-30 minutes between ending R1 and starting R2 that is a sensible thing to do.

FWIW I have a buddy who is a spotter on one of the par fours so he is on the course. I'm going to ping him this evening and see how wet it really is. 

 

The last time I was at the Masters was Arnie's last round as a competitor. Like this year, it was extremely wet and Friday's play carried over into Sat morning. I can remember in the lower areas the pine straw had deep mud underneath. It doesn't look THAT bad this week but with balls plugging I am curious.

Can't help but wonder if this is contractual due to scripted looks and outfits. Or he just really liked that outfit.

 

Going back to the 05 Masters, where DiMarco and Woods playing 27 on Sunday, neither wore what they had the day before, and both changed between rounds. I wonder if they'll be able to do that today with the full field having to squeeze in the round.

Bryson, Tiger and others apparently didn't sleep in their clothes last night.

It’s not unusual at all for play to carry over to the next day and I don’t recall this ever coming up. For Fleetwood it may be a clothing deal thing, he liked the shirt, had two of them, was asked to do it or a million other things.

Seems like Nike only sent a few colors.  A lot of the guys wearing the same stuff.
