You'll get what you pay for...I've had 3 different brands and Bushnell has been the best. Precision Pro is excellent for the price, just didn't fit best for me ( i play early in the morning and sometimes slight fog and it wouldn't work).

Alright thank you!

I have had two Caddyteks and both worked well.  The first quit calculating the slope after three years so I bought another and it has worked great for a year.

I recently bought the Caddytek from Costco and am really impressed. Super fast distance readout, plus slope option. Great price too.

Agree on the 'get what you pay for'.  I think the less expensive offerings have a wider laser pulse, or something else that affects the laser signal.  I kept catching small mounds in front of flags that were never a problem with bushnells I've tried.

I have a Bushnell V5 slope that works wonderfully. The strange thing about it is my friend as a cheap old model I think he paid $170 for that matches mine yard for yard. As some have suggested in here, the cheap ones seem to be as accurate, but not sure how long they will last compared to the top brand names.?

Would love the Bushnell V5 slope.  But for $400?  My buddies regular V5 has the best optics I’ve used so far in a range finder.

but think I’m going with PP NX9 slope.  It’s $219 right now.  Just seems like a lot for the difference.  $219 vs $399.

if money wasnt a question, i would go Bushnell V5 shift slope.  that said, $399 (maybe $350ish with promos or deals) and that was more than i wanted to spend right now on a range finder.  went with the NX9 pro for $219.

I currently have a Bushnell V4 slope and a V4 non-slope.  Both work great.  Prior to the V4 I purchased a Nikon Coolshot. I returned it after a week or two.  While it was accurate it was very slow when locking on to distances from about 175 and further.  Traded it for the V4 and the V4 was virtually instant when giving a reading (even on longer distances).  I have a friend that has a Tec Tec Tec laser that cost much less than my V4 and while it gives numbers comparable to my Bushnell it too is noticeably slower to respond.  My friend only uses it when he is away from me in the fairway.  Due to its lack of speed he doesn't even use it on par 3's anymore - just goes off my numbers.  My guess is the accuracy is pretty much identical despite the cost but the more expensive ones are much faster.

Ditto, that is a characteristic of the better rangefinders is that they lock on quicker, have better Optics, and are easier to use. The accuracy I have found to be comparable from one Rangefinder to another, but my Bushnell V5 slope is so easy to use and has fantastic Optics. I guess you get what you pay for.

I'm still using the Bushnell Pro 1600 Tournament edition.  It's a tank and has worked perfectly for damn near 10 years despite me slamming it in and out of a cart and golf bag.

I’ve had a Leupold GX-3i for the last six years and it is just now finally starting to give me a little trouble. Every once in awhile the connection between the unit and battery doesn’t quite catch right and it tells me the battery is dead, but fiddling around with the screw and battery fixes it right away.

The V5 slope is the best range finder i think that is out.  wide viewing angle and fantastic optics and i like the red flash when locked on to a target.

that  said, $400 is still stiff, imo.  my PP Nx9 slope just arrived and i will see if it can keep up for $219.

Yes that is a pretty good price tag on the V5 slope but the way I figure it if you want to buy a new driver they're going to be $500 and even more nowadays. I figure I get just as much help out of a rangefinder as I do with a driver. I hope you're in nx9 works out for you.

That case looks just like the one on my V4.  Enjoy.

It looks like the old Bushnell cases for sure. My X2 Bushnell case is the same but larger.

Anybody tried the Nikon Coolshots?  A tad less expensive than Precision Pro, but from a reputable optics brand.

Yeah, a couple of the guys in my group have them and they are great. Their optics are better than my Bushnell Tour X and on par with my Leupold.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Interesting I hear a few people saying the higher priced lasers are slightly faster? I have owned Bushnell's including the V4 and now have a PP NX9, it works beautifully and as everyone mentions almost all Lasers are reliable and accurate now and the technology is basically a commodity. If as some say the "High Priced" are faster my question is are milliseconds worth hundreds of dollars more? Lets face it Bushnell in particular has a huge marketing machine to pay for and wants to charge a much higher price for a little plastic box with electronics inside, strip the name off the plastic box and you would say why is one $200 higher.........

I'd say the price difference is more for optical quality and "stability". They've made these things so compact that holding them steady on a pin 200 yards away requires a little internal assistance.

I haven’t used my new PP NX9 slope on course yet but after taking it outside, there is no doubt the V5 has a wider and better viewing angle of price was not of consideration.   That said, it’s not worth an extra $170 for me.

time will tell on the use on the course.
