Here are more pics. I have tested both the Srixon Zx7 and  ZX5 and I am VERY impressed. The feel of the 1020 Endo Forged (rare to get 1020 and Endo forged now days) ZX7 is one of the best I have ever

Finally arrived. Time to get to the outdoor heated bay Perhaps the first set (4-P) in Calgary

well... the ZX7 feel like Land O'Lakes...

Not nearly as good looking at the 745 and 785 but I'm sure they will perform.

I actually think that’s the appeal of these. Kind of like a Transformer of player’s irons.

Seems like between Callaway, 921’s and these a lot of OEM’s are trending in showing the technology vs hiding it.

Really interested how the ZX5 long irons will compare to the previous versions.  As the 5's appear to depart from the look of their predecessors.  Pretty confident ZX7 won't vary too much from previous iterations.

These look pretty smooth to me. Been a Srixon gamer for awhile now... From the 765's to 965's and even tinkered with the 785's but liked my 965's better. Though these aren't blades... And the top line being ever-so slightly thickish (splitting hairs here) ... There are 3 main things I like about these.. (1) The sole grind (I know other srixons have it also bc I own them) but it seems to be more prominent and yet the sole is still thin and not chunky whatsoever. (2) The continuation of the more "square" more player shape as opposed to the "rounded" shape...even through the wedge especially. (3) The extremely similar look between the zx5 and zx7 that when making a combo set would almost look seamlessly as if it were a single set of players irons as opposed to past srixons for example when combining 565 and 765 it was aesthetically obvious the set was a combo. I have not hit them yet but I have seen them in hand as a friend has purchased a set already (yes they are already for sale and have been for quite some time on eBay...primarily from Australia and marked up in price). Looking forward to reading more posts on this thread.

Went back to the Z785s from the 921 Forged and now that Srixon has finally announced the release date, the ZX7s will be my birthday gift for sure! I'm interested in seeing what the other shaft offerings are as well, but I suspect they'll be similar to the previous release, which was pretty wide ranging if memory serves. Either way, c'mon pre order day!!!

I hear the x7's are actually smaller heel to toe than the 785's which would be a step up in looks, IMO.  7 series short irons historically looked a touch elongated to my eye and if these changed that, they will be in the mix for my next set (likely vs the new PINGS, whenever they come out). $162 per club is nice.

These look great. Bets 5 series yet by far. The 745/945 is still the best series, but these 7 look close. Yeah the cavity is busier, but the angular toe, heel notch and sole(thinner here, which is nice) all hark back to the 45.  I have another year or two left in my irons, but these will probably be my next set.

Interesting the offer s400 but not s300. And no up-charge. I wasn't a big fan of the modus in my buddies 765.

Making the S- Taper and PX LZ an upcharge is dumb on their part. Part of the Srixon appeal was the long list of no upcharge shafts.

No C Taper or C Taper Lite listed as options either.

That was a huge selling point for me in the Srixon 784’s.  Any shaft, any grip at no up charge.  The Ping 210’s would have been $200+ more for the same specs.

nice looking sticks but I don’t see a need to move away from my 785’s, actually been looking for another set as backup, half heartedly I’ll admit.

No gap wedge for the lefties.  I just went with a set of the Mizzy JPX 921 SEL irons as they had a set gap wedge. If these had the gap wedge in the set they were a massive chance of going in the bag, would have even given the Taylormade MC a go also. Having said that Srixon make beautiful irons and the feel is just as good as anything out there. I would say comparable to Mizuno and thats saying something.

Wish they made light weight heads like Mizuno. Really like these but they would come in around D9/E0 at my specs.

Agreed.

I had heard a while back that all steel options would be no upcharge here in the US, but I suppose that could have changed.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
