High Bounce Irons for Diggers

I was wondering if anyone had any iron recommendations that have a large amount of bounce and look good. I remember edel use to sell a set that had a lot of bounce but I guess they dont make them anymore

Wider soles can help as well.  I'm a digger and can get pretty steep if I get too aggressive and my Ping's (have both I20s and I210s) work quite well for me.  Also have a set of Edels that I'm waiting on ferrules to come this week to re-shaft, so can't comment on those yet (even tho in sig already), but love their wedges.

Pings as mentioned but also Srixon 785s.  They don’t have a wide sole or a ton of bounce but the V sole is the real deal and works really well for this digger.

I don't agree with the hypothesis that a steep angle of attack every wants low bounce irons.  Golf has a lot of "everyone is different" issues, the angle at which metal cuts into earth isn't one of them.

 

There are two sets of irons that are legends for high-bounce-wanting players: the Cobra s2 (still in Lexi Thompson's bag 10 years later) and the Callaway Forged Prototype Blades.  Other than those two, which are pretty extreme, there is the Bridgestone j40 DPC (see my sig), the Ping i210 and the Ping E1.

Another vote for Srixon.  They just work for me.

Ping and PXG (who lured away Ping designers when the company was established) are the kings of high bounce.  Pretty much every iron throughout their ranges are high bounce.  I'm a huge fan of bounce since my miss is steep.  J40 DPC's are not in the same league, although they do have a rounded leading edge which reduces digging.

Also depends on where you are in NA as not all soil is equal.  A digger in Texas will need something different than one in the North.  Here in the GTA, we rarely get fairways as concrete like as many places, even more so a difference in the NE and NW.

I’m the same way......played 710 AP1s for years, then moved to a 718 AP1/AP3 combo set. 
 

I am looking at the Srixon ZX5s.....forged iron with a moderate top line but with a wide sole.....haven’t hit them yet, but have heard nothing but great things about Srixon irons.

I have big digging problems and the I series pings changed my game. Not to mention the high bounce glides . I went i20 to i25 and have been in them for 6 years or so now.

As a few others have already mentioned, I think sole design is probably more important than the actual bounce degree number in irons. So irons with some sort of pre worn leading edge could help.

It's one of the reasons why I'm also considering Srixons this year.

 

For wedges, I also do feel ground/turf conditions have dictated my decisions more so than am I sweeper/digger.

I’m a bit of a digger, and the Hogan PTx Pros work really well for me. The V sole on the irons work well for my swing. I’m eying the new Srixons in an X5/X7 combo when my irons get replaced in the fall because of the V sole on those.
