I really hope those aren't the only putters we get from them this year cause those are hideous lol. Why can't they just give us a simple milled putter? Do they just think they won't sell or something?

I prefer a milled face like an Evnroll putter.

What's the deal with the PLD Tyne's that are popping up at retail stores and online? Seems weird just a one off putter for $500 is out to zero fan fair.

Every so often Ping will release a PLD putter for sale before the Tyne was the Bruzer and a few other models before that.

Reviving this thread to see if there’s any buzz out there.  Would love to see an expanded PLD program and/or a refresh of the Vault line.  Anyone hearing anything?

Nada, expect something Feb or when ever the virtual PGA Show will be. Ping will probably do putter last like they have before, they don't like to overlap releases.

That's what I figured.  Hopefully something good is on the way.

Same I don't play many OTR putters but Ping would probably be the only brand just based on options.

Not quite on point but what was the meaning/relevance of the Heppler name?

After coach Bruce Heppler.

Edit: my answer was wrong, correct under me.

Name Pays Tribute to Longtime Employee

The new putter family is named in honor of Rick Heppler, a longtime PING employee who began his career with the company as a teenager in 1966. The son of a General Electric co-worker of PING Founder Karsten Solheim, Rick was hired by Karsten to help John A. Solheim build putters in the family garage. Rick eventually held several management positions at Karsten Manufacturing Corporation before passing away in a motorcycle accident in 2013.

"Rick was part of the PING family for almost 50 years," said John. "He was a dear friend who contributed greatly to our success in all that he did. Naming this putter series after him is a tribute to his dedication to our company and its employees."

Tried to order a Sigma 2 Tyne 4 today and was told they're sold out and no more coming into Ping. The retailer said to keep an eye out in March, should see something fresh then. Do you think it will be something soft/insert to replace the Sigma 2? That would seem to complement the Heppler line.

Ping seems to rotate soft and firm putter so since last year was Heppler it could be a Sigma replacement. I really hope they also bring a Vault replacement like many have begged for. Well many have begged for PLD but lets be reasonable.

Ping has full product information posted on their Japan web site: https://clubping.jp/product/product2021_putter.html

Specs can sometimes vary on their Japan releases. April 9 is listed as an expected release date there. If using Google chrome as the search engine you can translate to English, not sure about others.

They probably have new milled putters coming. They always have another line where they try to use some "tech" and have lots of headshapes. To be fair, they are trying to give people the popular headshapes. It will really come down to how this new insert feels, to me the old Sigma 2 insert was way too soft. Anyway just thought I would post this from the Japanese website.

Sigma 2 insert was dead to me

I have an original Sigma Kushin

I am curious to see how this insert feels, or doesn't feel as in the case of the Sigma 2

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
