Guys i know at Cobra wouldn't put something like this out.  This is a Puma decision and it's almost as bad as slapping orange on everything.  

 

It looks like a Nike putter and them using the Volt colorway on drivers and putter makes it even more Nike.  Further showing that this is a PUMA thing, not Cobra thing.

I am surprised by the strong negative reaction to this. I actually think its pretty unique if over engineered looking. Maybe price is stiff, but its otherwise pretty cool.

The oblique front view is ok.  The top view isn't awful.  But the back looks like they put a suggestion box in the lunch room.

Heard they were pushing hard for Rickie to switch to a Cobra 3D printed putter.  After he balked at the first 32 versions.  They made a unanimous decision to tell him to stick with Scotty, prior to making the 33rd putter..

Even if he does, good luck selling armlock to the masses. You see armlock putters pop up on the bst all the time for a reason.

Arm locks actually sell very well. But then get traded or sold. Hence they are on BST. LOL.. 

 

The issue with armlocks off the rack is that they do not fit anyone. IF you truly want to try an armlock, you have to figure out what length, lie angle, etc works for you. The "standard" spec armlocks fit only a small percentage of people.

I like the looks from the top, not so much the back. I thought 3D printed would mean more cost effective. The price point is too steep, but if it's limited, they'll sell them all.

That was my thought as well.  3D printed seems like it would be reasonable.  Of course, I know nothing about 3D printing...

I just added to my WITB an Arm Lock winter test. Just grabbed one and i'm making my tweaks based on my practice.  Off the rack, arm locks aren't even close to fitting me.

 

 

@extrastiff the SIK loft idea works well

absolutely terrible, someone should be drug tested for that effort.   
 

but like art , “the beauty of a putter is in the eyes of the roller”.   One persons pile of 💩 is another’s “elder wand”.  Personally Might look for one on the BST to scope my goldens Feces up with.

Interested to see your results. My guess is that you will have to make it more upright and maybe a little longer..

I like the fact they're trying it out on an Anser style.  I think I'll wait until the second pass at it and a mallet style.  I give them an "A" for effort.

Someone has to pay for the 3D printer.  Don't imagine there is much profit in this first limited run.

The fact that rick or bryson isnt going to use this putter is very odd and telling i guess. Even dustin johnson rolls different putters for taylormade for a few weeks... thats being a sport about it tbh and also saying he feels like he can putt with almost anything... confidence. That being said... maybe its not that bad overall.

Regardless of SIK's involvement with this putter.  I doubt they want this thing anywhere near their main guy Bryson's bag, without their logo for visible television.

It's a prototype that they are selling, so I can only assume that the design will continue to evolve. Pretty cool stuff and it will be interesting to see where this leads, but I agree with RS, this particular example is not doing it for me. I am however interested in Sik, specifically the flo.. Just not that many come up on the BST...
