Club builder/fitter Front Range

Any recommendations on club builders and fitters? I live in Co Springs, but willing to go up and down the front range. I used to go to a place called Stix Fix a long time ago, but they have since closed. I've tried D'Lance back in the day, but didn't have a good experience (things may have changed by now). I've been looking at Club Champion and Dan Weitzel so far. Any others I should consider? I'm looking to get fitted for an entire set, and to make sure I have good gap coverage. Preferably a place where I can hit outside.

Thanks in advance!

D'Lance is expensive even if they've changed since you've been there. They do good work, however. CC is probably just as expensive when you get to the club building piece. You can pay for the fitting, then take the specs elsewhere. There is no pressure when you're there to buy from them which is nice.

I haven't been fit by Dan but have heard great things, and continue to recommend him to others.

Another option is Lenny's. Small shop, but apparently has great customer service and is fairly knowledgeable.

If you want to get fit outside, there is Club Spec at The Ridge at Castle Pines. Again, probably the same cost as CC. I also don't know if they're open right now due to the off-season.

Lastly, I believe @Noodler does club fitting on the side.

Oh interesting. Thanks for the update. Looks like you have to purchase clubs at time of fitting for the discount. I may try out their putter fitting since I'm interested in a L.A.B. putter, and they are one of the listed fitters.

I'm a little scared to see what they quote me for fitted clubs based off reading what others have stated.

I'm sort of in a predicament. I've been playing the same clubs for a while (long while) now. I just started playing regularly again this year, and really need some new sticks, especially wedges. I can't really replace my wedges since they are gapped off my current set, which are off traditional lofts (48* wedge). Looking at current sets, everything is stronger now, where I can find some sets starting with a 46* wedge. Seems silly to buy wedges without getting a set of irons first.

If you're okay with the used route, 2nd Swing will strengthen/weaken lofts on any purchased club for a few bucks before shipping.

Loft gapping into your iron set does have some dependence on where your wedges currently sit.  So that's a good approach and one that I have used in my own bag.  Once you determine the highest lofted wedge you want to carry, the remaining clubs can be derived from there (if your goal is to have consistent yardage gapping).

I specialize in optimizing whatever you bring me for a build.  I do lots of rebuilds.  Because I do this on the side, I don't have fitting carts for every major manufacturer (although I do have the Mizuno swing DNA optimizer).  If you're looking for new clubs, go hit a bunch of stuff and figure out what you like.  The important fact to understand is that a good builder can make just about any head work for you (within reason).  It's much more about shaft selection and then achieving the correct weight balance for final builds.  I have developed a protocol for determining the correct weight distribution across the club components that optimizes on-center strike accuracy with maximum club speed.

Old thread but wanted to make sure my feedback was shared somewhere relevant

+1 for Dan Weitzel and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending him to any of my friends looking for a builder. Just received my custom build Miura CB 302 with Axiom shafts and they are perfect!

Dan is extremely polite and professional in all of his communications. It’s a given he knows his stuff inside & out, but what sets him apart from other builders is his willingness to take time to explain things without being a “know it all”. He’s very meticulous with his work and keeps you well updated throughout the build process. A++
