Pretty sure the Golf Channel is re-airing all of the coverage at night after both days. But yes, super frustrating if you want to watch live.

Charlie’s swing looks really good. Just like Tiger’s. Smooth as butter.

Very uncomfortable press conference with tiger. Firstly, he appears to be in a lot of discomfort physically. He also seems to be nervous or anxious.. he doesn't finish his answers.. and he appears really apprehensive when answering questions about his son almost knowing the effect the media had on him and is now really Leary about his son entering that world. Of course obviously the push back to the reporter who asked the questions about the posters of nicklaus that wood hung on his wall and if his son had anything motivational or inspiring on his wall was clearly misinterpreted by woods. Strange press conference but since we're talking about tiger woods it's understandable.

Earl was distrusting of the media with Tiger. That was ingrained in Tiger early on in his pro career. It’s understandable if Tiger is careful with Charlie.

And given his own experiences early on of taking anything he said and burning him with it, I'm sure that has a lot to do with it too.  No one in their right mind wouldn't want to protect their kid.

For the most part, he looks relaxed and pretty thrilled to be playing golf with his kid.

 

Very interesting because it sounds like TW really hasn’t given Charlie much actual instruction and he says they just play shots and Charlie has a lot of the same feels that tiger  has. 
 

As far as that question about what is hanging in Charlie‘s bedroom...I think TW quickly got very protective, maybe a slight over reaction but *completely understandable. I think that he thought the reporter was prying  in the wrong way but I don’t think the reporter meant it that way at all.

It’s on NBC Sunday from 3-6 et.....and an hour of GC before that. Sunday is bonus coverage on Peacock.  Pretend it doesn’t exist if you don’t have it.

I mean count how many times he said the word enjoy. It was obvious to me he didn't want to come off as a parent who was pressuring his kid to play. I understand it... His son seems game and unflappable.. he seems like a happy kid but then again tiger has seen guys like Sean O'hair up close and what an over bearing father looks like or maybe tiger felt that pressure from Earl. Anyway, it's a really interesting dynamic to observe. Tiger only recently started opening up with the media so I guess I've just gotten used to the older tiger woods so to see him behave this way is unusual but it used to be par for the course. This was the second most uncomfortable press conference I've seen of tigers.

I don't blame Tiger being protective, even over protective of Charlie one bit. To be playing in an event this big on TV would make me break out in a cold sweat. We've seen so little of Charlie; I don't even know if I've ever heard his voice before. Tiger seemed a bit nervous to me. I know he used to stutter as a kid, but I don't think I've seen him do it that much in an interview recently. Maybe it was just a coincidence, maybe he's nervous. If Charlie is a big trash talker, I wonder if he put expectations on himself to win.

 

Charlie has an unbelievable swing and a very smooth putting stroke. Tiger said he hasn't been coaching him much. If that's true the kid is a natural because I don't know if I've ever seen a swing that good at 11 with so little coaching. I think Tiger genuinely isn't pressuring Charlie to play golf and that is commendable. But I don't know if I would say that Earl never pushed Tiger. Earl was putting him on TV and then on national TV before he ever had a say in the matter. His parents forced him to go to the college of their choosing. They made him break up with girlfriends for golf. They didn't let him play many other sports as kids or have many friends. Fortunately, Tiger seems to be a different kind of father in that respect.

I see the Haas and Players both had father son duos in US Opens. Couple others.
