One Length players SW & LW setup??

Recommended Posts

Was able to safely demo SpeedZone One Length 5, 7 and GW yesterday and can't believe how easy it felt. The big rub was when switching to my Sand & Lob wedges. It felt like the variables come back into play and felt weird. So long story short, what are current One Length players doing with their wedge setup?  Does anyone play one length wedges? Say, like 54* & 58* both @ 36".

I usually have PW-LW all the same length.  I'm going to dabble with a set of Sterling's this winter, but possibly doing them 2 lengths.  Doesn't hurt that I'm shorter and already play 1/2" short clubs

Not single length player I was recommended 9-LW same 36" long ago   Over time found lob @35.75" works best for me

My sw and lw are not OL...but they are the same length as each other.

I play older Callaway forged wedges and they are 36.5" long and 3* upright.

My bag is changing a bit...I replaced my kasco k2k hybrids with a TEE CBX119 18* hybrid and a CBX iron wood 22* and am fixing to replace my 5 iron with a 25* iron wood.

I love my SL irons but build my bag around what works best for me so I am not beholden to some strict "one length" doctrine.

Find out what works for your game...and go post low scores.

With speedzone i went for 5 iron all the way to Sw, with the last wedge being a 60° bigfoot. I really like this setup so far.

The 60° is pretty much only used from the bunker, no problems with it being shorter in length.

Last season was F9 OL 5-Gw, then to i210 and now I'm back to OL.

Can probably tell i am all about making this game easier. 🙂

When I played one length I played vokeys at +0.5 inch in 56 and 60. I honestly would have not played the one length gap wedge if I had kept going with one length. I found it created too big of a gap between it and 56, if I did it again I would probably play one length 5 iron to 9 iron then specialty wedges.

I play the 5- GW of the EQ1-NX at 37.5 inches,  the SW of the set is 36.75 w/Jumbomax XL ultra light. The SW is never really played with a full swing.

I bought a set of the King Forged OL 4-PW with a shaft I like for a deal a couple years ago just to dabble with and see what they were all about. I have used them for some rounds as well and don't have an issue with them at all, I actually think they're great irons and not a bad idea. That being said, I still like standard length wedges for some of the little tricky shots that occasionally arise.
