I called today and switched to the Titleist package for our trip mid-February, took less than 5 min. Such a good deal, now just need weather not to be too brutal

Nice! Outside of #2 and Cradle, which course(s) did you add?

T-minus 4 weeks here - can't wait!

I’m going down from Raleigh tomorrow to play #3. I’ve been to Pinehurst too many times to count but have never played #3 before so I’m looking forward to it.

I love #3. In the same boat as you being from Raleigh. Unfortuantly when people come to town its not at the top of their list so I don't get to play it too much but its a great track and by far my favorite after 2/4/8. Enjoy! Hope the wind wasn't too bad

It was great yesterday. Clear skies. There was hardly anyone there in general. I was one of two people on the driving range in the morning. No one was on the practice putting green.  I got to play #3 by myself - I took my time to enjoy being there so it took 2 hours total. When I finished, I went back to the range and there were only a handful of people on it at that time. I only saw a few people going out on the other courses. I’ll definitely only go back mid week now and avoid the weekends.

I will be there with a group (most from WRX) at the same time you will be.  We've got Mid Pines/Pine Needles Thursday, #7 and #4 Friday, Cradle and #2 Saturday, then Tobacco Road on the way back home on Sunday.  It's a yearly trip for a bunch of us and I just can't wait to get there already.

Sweet! I am sure we'll cross paths along the way. Already starting to keep an eye on the weather forecasts even though we're still a little ways out haha.

What's your personal preference between Mid Pines/PN?

We've been stalking Accuweather daily for a month now LOL

If I had 10 rounds between MP and PN, I'd probably go 6 at MP and 4 at PN.  I love both but thought Mid Pines had a better look and feel to it.  It's really splitting hairs between two top notch courses though.

I don’t remember a winter with this combination of cold and rain and I’ve lived in NC my entire life.  We normally have wide temperature  swing days where it will be in the 40s and then jump to mid 60s the next day.  One thing though, PH has that sandy soil that drains very well.

T-minus one week and the weather is looking good, considering how it has been there recently. Highs in the upper 50s / low 60s and low 40s in the morning. Chance of rain a couple of days.

I live in Houston and it's been absolutely brutal here with the power outages and cold.

This has been a tough few days weather-wise where we live which is just over an hour north of Pinehurst.  Low 30's, ice, rain, wind, locusts...hope any of y'all who came in the area are making the best of it.

Next week does look better but I have to wonder what shape the courses will be in.

We played #4 today and it was a cold/wet mess. Rain, 34* and half the greens had rivers flowing on them. We still had fun but I'm not sure the course would have been open with worse weather. Supposed to be a little better tomorrow but you really have to want it to play in conditions like these. Hope everyone coming the rest of the month has better conditions.

I'm very sorry the weather hasn't cooperated for you.  Glad you did get to go out and at least had some fun.  As others have stated it's just been a messy time (weather-wise) around here lately...maybe today (Fri 2/19) will be a little better!

Well as a final update, the rain went away and the days got progressively warmer and we had a great trip. Obviously cold temps are a risk when you book a trip in February so we knew what we were getting ourselves into on that front. #2 on Friday still had a number of bunkers that were lakes but they were pumping them out and the rest of the course drains really well so we got the full experience. #7 on Saturday was still pretty soaked but thankfully our caddies gave us the heads up on that beforehand.

I'll hope for even better weather for the guys going at the end of the month. Just remember that if you are trying to go to the brewery, go early, that place fills up quick and all alcohol sales stop promptly at 9pm.

I cannot stress this enough my good sir. You have to play number 3. Or at least go out there around dusk and play a few holes. If you play number 4 early enough in the morning, ask to jam out on number 3. It’s a rad loop, with some cool history too.
you could play 4,3, and the cradle twice in the same day if you teed off early enough. Hope you have fun

Great update and happy to hear you had a good trip!

There's rain in the forecast the entire length of our trip, so I am making sure to pack the raingear and extra sets of clothes haha. At least the days prior it's supposed to be sunny which will help. Definitely won't let it ruin the experience! Can't wait.

I am playing #2 on Sunday around 8:30 so I will try and sneak in #3, if I am able to move my slot at Cradle. Appreciate the insight @Carpenter792!

@Carpenter792 man, I want that bag so bad but they took it off the website...wondering if they have any hiding at the pro shop 👀

Wonder how the transfusions there compare with the ones at Bandon!

The bag is sweet, but lookin back. I wish I woulda spent half the money on the SWEET Seamus Sunday bay (cradle themed). They have both #2 and #4 bags in the main shop by #2’s 18th green and Payne. Right when you walk in from the duece on the left. Or if you go all the way to the back left where the hats are, you’ll see the Seamus ones.

GL not spending  $500 in there.... Lady and I spent well over 1000

Geesh they hide those from the online store then. Still plenty of time to take out a second mortgage before I leave Thursday 😉 .
