2020 US Women's Open

One of the reasons Erika Hara is catching all the attention after she won her second major this year, is that's she's the so called 8-head beauty in Japan.

Erika (5'8") is tall and has a relatively small head; and her height is more than 8 times the height of her head.

Erika Hara! Two teachers testify to "8-head model" female professional

We're officially into the USWO week, and this is another nice article to read

Nelly Korda’s Love of the Game Began at U.S. Women’s Open

"When asked what it would mean to hoist the Harton S. Semple Trophy and receive the Mickey Wright Medal, Korda made her feelings crystal clear.

“To be honest, that would be a dream come true for me,” she said. “When I first played in the U.S. Women’s Open I was 14 years old, and walking on that range and seeing all the top names in women’s golf and having my sister there and everything, I think that’s where I fell in love with the game. I was like ‘OK, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.’

“That tournament will always be one of the most special that I will ever play in,” Korda said."

Erica Hara, Yuka (half Japan, I classify her as Japanese right now), Mamiko, Katsu, Yui, Sakura -- there's tons of them next week that have game in my view... Needless to say, of course, Nasa and Hinako, Ai Suzuki (and even Mamiko) are already known entities...

What happened to Haru? She had a good run going for a few years, but 2020 has been a bust (5 missed cuts and 1 Top 20), as was most of 2019.

Haru Nomura was #162 on Rolex ranking on Monday, November 9, 2020, she's qualified to play USWO.

She hasn't played since KPMG in October, clearly she's called it for the year.

As @18majorssaid, she's called it a year despite playing in the majors (eg BO, KPMG)this year - decided to not participate USWO (which was surprising but with covid, nothing is surprising anymore)

Didn't Haru wreck her back a couple season ago, if I remember correctly?  If she's fighting back issues that tough cause she hasn't been the same player for a few years now.

Players from the US, South Korea and Japan make up more than half the field. Sweden, Thailand, Australia, France, China, Chinese Taipei also have decent size contingents that leave very little space in the field for other countries. Surprised to see Italy with multiple entries.

Really looking forward to this weeks golf.

Would love to play Champions, seem to always meet members but never played it yet. If I was in Houston long term I would certainly join it.

Weather is warmer again so hopefully it stays dry also.

They seem fair, Lydia is probably the best value at 33-1, I would have thought she be the same odds as Lexi and Minjee or even closer to Nasa at 22-1.  I would avoid Inbee at 11-1, yes Inbee is Inbee and always gonna be a factor.  Depending on how long the course plays, that can be factor for Inbee.  Not saying Inbee won't be there but at 11-1 I see no value having to beat some of the skilled bombers and longer hitters.

Speaking like an experienced player!

I'd recommend Golf Channel hire you for many 5-minute segments handicapping the field before every round.

Best value there is So Yeon Ryu and Pederson I would think. Apart from those two, the odds look about right to me, except for a certain person at $28 who hasn't won in about 90 starts over 4 seasons.

Agreed, no sane person would bet on a player who'd find a way to lose even if she leads by 5 shots going into the final round.
