My friends mocked my 38 Super and 45 GAP for years.   Well, sunshines, guess what I still can buy ammo for now?   hahahahahahaahahaha...

The political tensions and COVID stuff are going to make this particular hobby an interesting one for quite some time.   Buckle up...

I'm really confused, everyone around here still calls a gun a gun.

I'm kinda fascinated by that too. I know someone very well who was Canadian special forces and also served as a machine gunner prior to that. Owns several guns now. I actually asked him if he calls them guns or firearms and he said guns

Maybe it is a regional thing

I think part of the rub is when anti-gun people call ar15s assault weapons, trying to shed bad light on them. Making some name sensitive.

I have shot guns and bows a great part of my life. My view is that a pistol is a pistol, a rifle is a rifle, a shotgun is a shotgun but when they are grouped together  are collectively called guns or firearms. OP,  don't let someone who is being overly technical ruin your post. I chat on some firearm forums occasionally and the thing that usually sets off the super serious is referring  to a magazine as a  clip.   By the way, I do not own any firearms anymore. They all were lost in a boating accident coincidently as someone else has stated.

When I was in the military we called our M16's our weapons but once I was out it was just a gun.

This is my weapon and This is my gun.

I checked 9mm, .40, .380, .357 and .556. Nothing at all in stock. They did have some 12ga bird shot if that's your thing.

That's where I get my ammo as well. I had a 'prime membership' that ended this past March, just when the CV19 started up. I stocked up pretty good . I don't think we'll see those prices and stock for at least 5 years or more.

doing some heavy curls later, putting on a gun show

As a Canuck, I had no idea that there was a run on this stuff, just like fitness equipment I guess

I've only fired handguns once in my life so I can't seriously contribute.  One of them was a 357 silver python Magnum that had one heck of a kick

I've been avoiding going to the range because there's no stock anywhere to replace what I shoot.

Yep, that solid backstrap with a hot .357 load will get your attention.

I have a Smith & Wesson 629, 44 Magnum. When I load up some hot Magnum rounds with about 25 grains of Winchester 296 you better be ready on the Range Line!

See, now I’m curious.

If you don’t call a firearm a gun

Why are they called “gun safes”

And why is the magazine called

I own no firearms or guns. But I can see that they would be an excellent idea fir personal protection and a fun hobby ; )

As a former muzzleloading and benchrest  competitive shooter , I believe a gun range is the only place you will hear more nonsense than at  a driving range

And yes -they call it a gun range

You just reminded me of story. My buddy is armed to the teeth, got started after he got attacked by this guy with a bat, now he has a giant safe full of....hardware!

Anyway, he hangs out with these others guys that all shoot and this one guy said he went out to visit his friend out somewhere west and they were going to go camping out in some outback and the guy was like, “where’s the guns?”. So his friends have no guns and he’s like, “well I’m not going camping with no gun” and he goes and buys a shotgun to bring along.

So they get out into the desert or wherever they are and, low and behold, that night some tough guys show up and are like, “well, what have we here?”

So, the guy comes out with the shotgun like, “is there a problem?”

And the interlopers drive away.

But, I definitely remember him calling them “guns” and he seemed to know what he was talking about so I assume some people use the term “gun” at times ; )

We're not doing this again.

Every year or so one of you guys opens one of these threads and it absolutely 100% of the time devolves into a pissing contest or more dumb comments like "I'd like to make a political comment right now but the rules against political comments means I cant comment about the politics I want to comment about."

You always say the same thing, it will be better this time, we wont talk about politics, we wont fight, etc etc etc.

Sorry guys, this is not a firearms forum and is not intended to be one.
