Any thoughts on the Srixon Zf85 3 wood?

Any thoughts on the Srixon ZF85 3 wood? I’m currently playing the Ping G410 in 16* dialed down to 14.5*. Very low profile... VERY easy to hit off the deck... I have a lot of confidence in this club... only downside is it’s not that long... but it’s point & shoot... there are no places close to me that I can demo the Srixon, but the price has dropped down to $175... from what little info there is out there on it, it sounds like it’s a rocket BUT also very very forgiving... from online pics the face looks deeper than the G410 (I like that shallow face pancake look in a fairway wood lol) but still pretty shallow... anyone hit this?... own this?... or can compare this to the G410? I’d appreciate the feedback... thanks!!!

I have one as my backup 3w. It IS pretty long by 3w standards, but more importantly, it is very easy off the deck. I was shocked at how easy it feels to hit. The sound is a muted crack and it's really nice to look down at. I would say the only down sides are that it does sit a little closed so it has a left bias for me and the stock shaft is the 62g whereas I normally play something closer to 70-75g. Also, it is not adjustable... Its an excellent FWW that can be had for a good price as Srixon gear usually flies under the radar anyway.

Bottom line, I don't think it's any more difficult to hit off the deck than the Ping and I had both the g400 3w and the 410. I do agree, the Pings are easier to hit but they do tend to be shorter on distance... The fw I play now is 2 degrees weaker than the Ping and is easily 10-15 yards longer.

I’ve tried the F85 twice and both times the main issue I had was that it was a little left biased. Really long, easy to hit off the deck even with a slightly deeper face and good off the tee. If it were adjustable where I could’ve opened up the face I would’ve kept it.

I’ve found a good compromise with my Ping G30. The secret for me was to pair it with a very tip stiffed shaft to keep spin down. My G30 is equally as long as the F85 but the trade off is it’s easier off the deck, especially tight lies but not as good off the tee where I prefer a deeper face. But so far it’s been working really well.

My miss is left on literally every club BUT my fairway wood so I don’t mind a very subtle draw bias

I have a 13.5* F85 currently in the bag. Long off the tee. Easy to hit off the deck. But, be careful with the stock shaft if you have an aggressive or higher speed swing. Mine has / had the stock HZRDUS Red 6.0. Even with my lowly 100mph swing speed, it was too weak. I put a 6.0 EvenFlow Black in it (same shaft as my driver), and it woke right up. I can jump on it hard and the shaft "holds true". That didn't happen with the HZRDUS Red.

Great head, just make sure you have the right shaft for your swing to get the most out of it.

Price was almost too good to pass up... ALMOST... but I love my G410s... I was almost tempted to toss away $200 to give it a go, but I decided to toss it towards a new hybrid instead... which I also do not need lol
