Ping G410+ guys question

Recommended Posts

Previous gamer: G400 LST/Alta CB55 S. Recently bought a G410+ with Tensei orange S. I really like the G410+, it is noticeably more forgiving than the G400LST, just not quite as long on center hits. The Tensei shaft is smooth and plays at 45.25" vs the 45.75" of the G400LST. I can't get the swing speed  on the G410+ as expected, but make up for it in center contact. SS is 100-105 with the G410+. My question is spin. I do believe the tensei shaft is spinning too much by about 300-400rms, usually around 2600-2700. Can you recommend a similar feeling shaft at 45.25" like the tensei orange that spins a bit less? Would pay $250 or less for the perfect one. Thanks.

EF Black could be a good choice. I liked both the Tensei Orange and the EF Black in the 410 head (LST, not Plus, to be fair) and got my launch and spin to drop with EF black but still had a lot of fee

Besides the obvious response, getting fitted, I would suggest giving the Ping Tour 65 shaft a try. It will spin less than the Tensi and as a reasonably priced stock shaft it is a very good option.  They can be had for a $100 or so.  Or just pick up another Alta CB55 S take 3/4" off and add another weight to the head to bring the SW back up.

Without being fitted you heading down the preverbal rabbit hole which can get expensive.

All that being said, go and get fit or at least demo clubs if you can - local PGA Superstore perhaps? My local one has been great to me in the offseason in trying out different drivers, but as always YMMV.

I do have a tour65 in the ping g400 lst but I just couldn't get on with it, perhaps too stiff or just not right for me.

I am seeking the feel of the tensei orange with less spin.
