DIY Stroke Lab Putter Shaft?

I was thinking of taking an old graphite driver shaft and making my own Stroke Lab putter shaft. Anybody try this and have some pointers?

So the StrokeLab shaft is all about weight distribution basically counterbalancing. If you want to achieve the same thing just counter balance any steel shaft you have. Now if you want something stiffer then using an old driver shaft could work as long as you have the right profile shaft or it could feel weird based on what I've seen people say.

Thanks. I was looking to make the head feel heavier, without adding weight, which may affect the MOI. I figure taking the weight away from the hands by switching to graphite would be a good way to

do it.

Depending what grip you're using right now replacing it with a lighter grip will make the head feel heavier.

That will be tough to find a lighter grip. Other option is just bump up the head weight on the putter if you can.

Several of the Superstroke grips are in the 50g range.

 

Pistol GT Tour for example is 50g

What the whole stroke lab concept is making the heads feel lighter.  Odyssey said putters were getting heavier and the swing weights in the high E ranges. They redistributed the weight bringing the putter to D5,  said to help with tempo.

That’s what I’m hoping for- a heavier feeling head that doesn’t have added weight. I figure I’ll cut down the steel shaft and stick the graphite into the steel and epoxy it. Just not sure how the transition will looks I may test it out on some old shafts first.
