Callaway Apex and Apex Pro 21

You're right. But when I have TOO MANY choices that overlap ,I tend to just not buy any of them. If you test all 13 different irons you're not gonna walk away thinking they all did something different. Just overkill to the 10th degree in my opinion. But hell, if Callaway wants 20 different iron sets more power to them.

Why is that do you think? Is it that you are overwhelmed with the choice?

No, I think it comes from being in sales for 40 years and my attitude towards marketing. Totally just a personal thing. I understand many people like a ton of choices, I do too. But there comes a point when some companies just go overboard in my opinion.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but looking at the photos it seems like the Apex Pro will now have a satin finish...is that correct?  With the Apex MB moving away from the high chrome mirror finish, it makes sense that the Apex Pro would also, but I (part of the minority I believe) really enjoy the high chrome finish so would be disappointed if they went away from it.   It does, however, look like the TCB may still have the high chrome finish.

I've always had some kind of nit on the older Callaway iron offerings (and even after hitting them)... yet this one appeals to me a bit more. I'll have to see how they feel.

I've only hit the Pro iron so far, but it has feel and sound I would associate with a traditional one piece forging. The somewhat harsh sound and feel of the '19 Pro iron (and '19 Apex hybrid) are gone in this version.

Sounds like no US release. Booooo!

I wouldn't rule out a limited release of them here in the US like they did with Apex Pro Dot irons in '19, particularly if Xander and Rahm keep getting them plenty of TV time. Not saying that's certainly going to happen, but all hope is not lost either.

I hate to throw cold water on the party here, but I've seen nothing official to indicate that the TCB is coming to retail. I'm not saying with 100% certainty that it won't at some point, but if it was in fact going to be imminently available I'd know.

That's why I'm dubious on the source of that photo with all the different Apex irons in it. It looks "not quite right", for reason explained previously. It may be legit, but count me skeptical.

sorry michael caine GIF

Don't say I didn't warn y'all. It's going to be available in the UK, where the XFCB didn't come to retail.

I'm just as confused as anybody else as to why. Maybe a limited release will come like the Pro Dot irons in '19; we'll see.

Talk about an Epic fail.  I guess many people have to pay higher prices for a UK set.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned or asked this, but are the TCB Apex's the one's Rahm and Xander are gaming?

They are - so far as we can tell - cosmetically. But we dont know if they have models similar to what would be retail, or if they have 'dot' models which are less offset or have some other changed aspect to them.

Goes to show there's truth to the adage that the things we want most are the ones we're told we can't have, I suppose.

Can't emphasize this enough, go test the new Apex Pro iron. Been at this equipment biz for nearly 20 years so I've seen it all come and go, and really think it's going to prove to be special.

So is the TCB the same tech as the Pro just in a tighter package? Face cup in 3-7, etc.

More akin to the X Forged CB from what I understand. Traditional forging with top line and blade lengths like the Apex MB but in a slightly more forgiving CB package.

I’m gonna have to see some awful first impressions of the Pro’s to not buy a set of those sight unseen. Ya’ll can wait out the TCB if you like, but I might just buy two sets of the Pro’s because not really sure what more you could ask for in an iron, and who knows when we’ll see one like this again haha.
