They do this all the time. For heads and triple diamonds are always around that time if released.

I love the Pros. Not sure if this was covered, but how would someone blend the Apex and Pro from 6-7?

The Apex has like 3 degree steps with a 26.5* 6-iron and then a 33* 7-iron in the Pro?

The WRX story says split is between the 7/8 but it’s still a 6.5* gap.

That’s like 2 clubs?

Maybe an odd question but does anyone think/know if the DCB would blend well with Mavrik Pros? I go from Mavrik Max to Pro now and it works from performance stand point, but I wonder if the Apex DCB would work from performance stand point and blend nicer visually too.

We're going on a Minimalist Adventure who knows were we'll end up:

"Full" bag currently looks like this:

Taylormade BRNR Mini Copper 13.5

Taylormade Sim Max 7w Mitsubishi Diamana F Limited 75S

Titleist 818H1 25* Fuji Atmos Black 9s

Callaway Mavrik Pro 7-PW Project X Rifle Tour Flighted 105 6.0

Callaway MD5 48*

Callway Jaws Raw 56*

White Hot OG #1

I am wondering this as well. But if you look at the spec sheet it appears that there is no change in the loft (or length) for the Apex Pros or the Apex 21s in the combo set. Does that mean they should be around the same distance ? If so, can you break it anywhere you want in the set?

I hit both heads today at the store and they were amazing. Barely lost any distance on thin shots (which is my miss) and was shocked at how good the dispersion was. Really want to break the set at the 6 or 7. Here's hoping you can!

I made some calls about the TCB. They are being released in the UK since they did not get the X Forged CB. We should see them in April/May as a custom only offering.

Yep, I was looking at that on the Callaway VIP site. I would guess when the actually specs for the combo sets come out they would do what they have always done with the lofts on the combo sets.

I’ve been staring at the pro’s all day... I can not wait to go test these things. The P770s had me feeling the same way when I saw them online, but the feel, look by the ball, and performance didn’t live up to what I had hoped. It’s very much coming down to i210 and these bad boys. Very pumped to get into TrueSpec and put them through their paces.

Looks like they just updated the lofts in the combo set and it matches up better.

Only a 4* split between the Pros and Apex 21s at the 7/8 split

Only a 4* split between the Pros and Apex 21s at the 7/8 split

2.5* strong 8i compared to stock Pros. Will that mess with the bounce/turf interaction or do they actually make a different club with new specs?

I was told by GolfSupport dot com, that they're not allowed to "export" Callaway clubs to North America, something to do with Callaway licensing.  Might want to ask first @TheMoneyShot

Thanks for the info and that totally stinks if true?  Are there any other sites that are legit to buy from?

I haven't found any reputable ones yet.  Maybe someone in the know will send us a PM with a link to a site that will ship to us.  <hint hint>

For the last Apex combo they made a different club (in fact the pros were a different finish in the combo). It's why it's hard to make your own combo set because you would have to bend them and mess with the bounce.

that’s why god invented “open box” and “demo” sets

that’s how Japanese sellers ship to the USA

they can’t sell new, but...

Cardy,

They feel and sound like a traditional forging; definitely worth giving a test drive.

Agree, the CB feels as sweet as nearly anything.

Point being if I hadn’t known going in that the Pro was a hollow head full of goo I wouldn’t have guessed it. Cheers!

Might be hard to believe but April used to be the first release date for new clubs. The PGA Show was used to unveil new products that would come out in April and May.
