New 2021 PING Milled Putters??

Hey guys,

 

I was wondering if anyone has any info on PING releasing a new milled putter line up in 2021? The Vault 2.0 line came out in 2018, so there has to be something in the works. 

 

I seen a bunch of the PING PLD putters that were posted this time last year on here, with the copper/patina finish, and they looked gorgeous (examples pictured below). I feel like PING should really start a slightly more premium milled line for the retail market to compete more with Scotty, Toulon, Bettinardi, etc. 

 

What would you guys like to see from the next PING milled putter range?

I would LOVE this! I’d love an anser 2 with a tri sole and topline!

I love just about everything about PING, but really do not like how they don't make any of their standard milled putters available to the average golfer.  I do not want an insert and do not like the look of the look (copper paint) or sound/feel (aluminum, yuck) of the Heppler putters

Well, there is close to zero chance of anything like the PLD model in your picture being made available to the public, unless a person is willing and able to fly to Phoenix AZ for a personal fitting then to spend $1-2k on a single putter.  Occasionally the masses are thrown a bone like the PLD4, the black Tyne model which looks like Cameron Champ's putter and which is a very limited special edition, but I doubt we'll ever get access to the copper models like the one above.  I'd love to be proved wrong...

Does PING actually offer this custom built putter service to the public? If so, do you have any info on it??

You either have to know a fitter/pro with a very good relationship with Ping or just fly to their HQ and get fit.

I love the dale anser but the grooves make it too soft

Isn't it a little odd to not have any word on a new release by now? I'm dying to see a new Ping offering.

They just announced their 425 line not long ago and many other brands did similar as well. They could be waiting for the virtual PGA Show to announce putters just to get more attention.

Or the Vault 2.0 (or 3.0) with the milled TR grooves like the Anser Milled line has.  I absolutely LOVE my Anser Milled 2 but if a new line were offered I would buy one in a second.  The Vault 2.0 Dale Anser is a great putter but I agree, it did feel soft.  I like the click of the AM.

Was talking to one of the master fitters at PING and he gave me some info on the PING PLD putter fitting. They offer the service either in person or via Zoom and it's $1250 USD for the custom built PLD putter. That's a pretty good price considering they custom build you the exact putter you want and you can't get a Scotty Circle T for less than 2k.

That's not bad at all, I'd prefer to do the fitting at Ping HQ just because of how cool it would be, also heard they have a perfectly flat putting surface atop a massive slab of granite. Now if I 100% knew my specs or what I liked I'd just do the zoom and save the flights and hotel fees.

Yeah, perhaps the inflation of prices on Circle T's, Betti Hive and the like has made me somewhat numb to these things but $1250 for a personalized fitting at Ping HQ and building of a totally custom putter sounds very reasonable!

 

Maybe once all of this COVID nonsense finally passes I should consider it since I'm out in Scottsdale to visit family a couple of times a year (in normal years when we aren't in a global pandemic).
