PXG Gen 4 STICKS (Irons & Woods)... 2021

I'm out on getting this generation at release.  Even last year on a "quick" for PXG turnaround from Gen2 to Gen3 they kept Gen2's at $400/iron during the pre release to big PXG accounts and then pulled them completely off the site when Gen3's launched only to add them back w/ COVID taking place.  This year we saw the Gen 3's drop massively in price every few months.  I'll replace my Gen3's w/ Gen4's for half price in 6 months.

 

I have a fitting for Proto Fairway woods today, w/ Gen4 coming in the next 30-60 days, I'm excited to hear my fitter explain why I should pay the release price for Proto's today 🤣

 

 

From a business standpoint they've done great the last 12 months, but why anyone would pay release price for the Gen4 0311's that I'm hearing will be on the high end again... I think sales will be a fraction of what Gen 2 and Gen 3 were until they start their long run of discounting to 60% off.

GolfWRX needs to have a full set of new G4 irons for the person that guesses correct on the intro price!  LOL

Will definitely be interesting to see what their price is on these new G4 clubs.

Early adopters will rush to get them first thing as usual, but many are now "gun-shy" and will wait which may result in discounts sooner than normal.

Maybe PXG throws a curve ball this time and prices them at a reasonable rate?  Pipe dream I guess...

That is what the website will look like on day 1!  That's my price guess!  I think they stick w/ the shaft upgrade charge too!

 

 

I do find it odd they now claim Gen 3 irons have gone on sale from $349 to $199 when you hover over them, they were $425 at launch.

The G4 is the premium set and must identify itself from the no-screw 0211 set, so yes screws included along with other benefits of the new tri-COR flubber filler material, etc.

I think they go back to more premium.  Im guessing $399 an iron and they throw a curveball and the small individual weights are now gone

I'm going to call it now that they take a page out of the 2021 0211 playbook and extend the standard length of the Gen 4 0311 by 0.5" to 1" to "increase distance and ball speed"

The 0211ST is the entry level "BLADE" to the premium 0311ST blade.

No chance a blade is as forgiving as the 0311T hollow body....IMHO

Do we know Gen 4 irons for sure are coming soon? I was at Scottsdale National on Saturday and nobody confirmed they’re coming anytime soon.

We do know driver, fairway and hybrids are coming soon in March/April as they put a disclaimer (Please note: GEN4 Hybrids will be released March/April.) on the various Proto buy pages...However, they haven't done it for the Gen3 irons...

What’s your source? Not saying you’re wrong. I’m only asking because I was at SNGC which is PXG central and they all told me no such irons in the pipeline.

I heard they will only have a single weight. Makes me think of the 2011 TM TP irons.
