Gen4 0211 or Gen4 0311 here? Seems like they went with one polymer core material vs impact reactor dual core. I like rear milling, and left to wonder if this larger weight is interchangeable with the putter/Proto wood range weights as it has a different top with milling vs the mini-circle designs. Also, no high toe perimeter screws, so maybe internal weighting for centralizing the sweet spot.

PXG GEN3 0311XP 3 IRON/TT ELEVATE TOUR S/WINN DT WRAP

I'm also curious what this "XCOR" is. Back to single material?

My buddy has the Gen3s and has major issues with distance control. He'll flush a wedge and hit it further than a 9 iron.

It's going to make club building less time consuming with the one screw.

Great point. The first time I saw something like this from Miura I thought, "Man, that looks rather unfinished." I always like the "steam punk" kinda look of the naked technology of Gen 1,2,3. It kinda reminded me of seeing a racecar or a fighter plane up close. I guess I'm just not a fan of the Gen 4 irons.

If you want to build clubs for a shorter person, taller person or a more complex build like TLT or MOI is a, game changer. I hate hosel weights because they mess with CG location.

Makes sense. I guess I liked the symmetry of Gen 3 and the naked tech of all the previous Gens. I'm certainly not real knowledgeable about where MOI can be applied but why add weight right behind the sweet spot instead of on the perimeter? Seems counter intuitive to 40 years of perimeter weighting.

The irons are still perimeter weighted. There is a range of weights I'm sure you can change the center weight to. Not infinite.

Gen 4 seems like a pure step backwards for PXG. Very disappointed. That said I'm very happy with my Protos and will be trying the 0211ST at some point. Hopefully those 0211ST live up to the hype because they look great.

How do you even know this without hitting any of the clubs? SMH!

The loss of the toe weight on the woods is an absolute negative. That's just a fact. It's less adjustable. It's also a step backwards in terms of design and looks as far as I'm concerned. You're free to disgree on that, but my guess is that it'll turn some people off.

So a toe weight which was on a driver labeled "Prototype" is no longer available on the next generation driver and it's deemed a factually absolute negative strike against the new driver without ever hitting the new driver. As if the toe weight was the greatest thing since sliced bread. If so don't you think they might have kept it? Every driver they have released has performed better than the prior drivers which were released. This is a fact! Pretty sure the PXG engineers know what they're doing and will design something which is better than the last iteration. Their development history has proven this and their boss expects it. Whether or not people are turned off by it, who cares, that's for those people to deal with. Can't make everyone happy!

I think PXG is starting to streamline costs, hence no toe weight on driver; one large weight in Gen4 irons making the building process simpler and quicker. They've realized the market for ultra expensive gear is small and are jumping to the mainstream. That said, I'm sure the Gen4 stuff will still perform great.

PXG has today revealed that its all-new GEN4 golf clubs are on their way.

The move to announce the specific date of a club launch weeks in advance to the public at large is a new one in the equipment space, but PXG is nothing if not unmarried to convention.

As for the specifics of the lineup and the technology therein, we’ll have to wait, but we do know the GEN4 series of clubs includes drivers, fairways, hybrids. Full details of the clubs will be available March 9, with GEN4 arriving at retail on March 30.

Speaking on the new GEN4 series, PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons said

“We’ve held nothing back, spared no expense, and poured every ounce of innovation, and every lesson learned into these babies. The result – clubs that are absolutely amazing and expensive, but worth every cent. Everything you would expect from PXG and more.”

Today’s announcement comes one month after the company released its all-new PXG 2021 0211 Golf Clubs, and the GEN4 clubs are priced as the following

  • Drivers: $549
  • Fairways: $429
  • Hybrids: $379
  • Irons: $349

As with all PXG clubs, special pricing will be available to all current and past military, veterans, and first responders through the PXG for Heroes program.

“We want everyone to experience PXG’s killer patented technology, so we’ve expanded our offerings to support a wider audience of golfers. Whether you prefer the latest technology and most advanced fitting options or simply want a sexy set of sticks that deliver incredible performance, we’ve got you covered, and we’re proud to count you among our PXG Troops.”

– Bob Parsons

Stay tuned for full details on the new GEN4 clubs on March 9.

I think the value of my Gen 3's just went up.

Mr. Wolfe

How so?  Pretty soon people will be able to buy them for something around 149$ per club new.  Anybody that bought the gen 3's for 300 a club shouldent be too excited that they wont even be able to recoup half of what they spent a year ago.

I’m very interested in 0311T’s.  The Gen 3 looks great.  Curious how the Gen 4 evolves, especially with the size and shape.  The Gen 3T’s just looked so good and inviting at address.

I too am interested in the Gen 4 Ts. One game the Gen 3s since last March and it’s the longest time any set of irons has remained in my bag. PXG’s philosophy was they would never sell a product unless it was superior to the previous generation. This has been true thus far so I have no reason to believe there won’t out perform the Gen 3s. We will see next month.
