Annoyed the PXG used come out with their irons every two years and now it seems like is turning into every one.  Geez - too expensive to come out every year and I just got my Gen 3’s last August.   Make something great and keep it great.  Every year is just gimmicky and holding back.  What turns me off on TM and Callaway.  

 

At least Ping is still every two years.  May go back to them.

As others have said, I’m sure the performance will be there; however, when the Gen 3’s released, I remember getting that “I cannot wait to get a set of these in my bag” feeling. I’m not getting that at all with the Gen 4’s. Time will tell.

I’m fairness to TM and Callaway, they only do that with their entry level irons. The P range for TM and the Apex line for Callaway are on two year cycles.

I feel you, but I can't imagine the Gen4 is going to be that much better than the Gen3. I went from Gen2 to Gen3 and I felt there was a noticeable difference. Without know how the Gen4 is built, I have to believe the big weight on the back will help with customization. If the new 0211 is the off the rack irons, and the Gen4 is more customizable due to fitting, then so be it. My Gen3 is awesome and it's going to take a lot for me to get Gen4 or any other clubs.

That's exactly what it looks like! I saw pics for the first time last night and I couldn't place my finger on what it resembled a sphincter! There's a chocolate starfish on the Gen4's.

I'll be trying the Gen4 driver for sure to see it it beats the Proto. The X and XT right?

Address pic looks good to me..........the question for me is how "XSF" (Xtremely Soft Feel) is this....I don't care for the overly soft feel...need more solid feel.

The 0341X 15 wood looks great!  The white is growing on me...lol

 

These G4 woods will certainly standout from prior Gen models.

They do look good..I really like the look of the hybrids.  No rush with the irons, I’m happy with the gen 3s.

Looks like a nice collab with MRC with heavy use of the AV (Aluminum Vapor) carbon weave.  Lighter, stronger and thinner than traditional carbon ply weave which is definitely growing on me. I do like the visual white hi-lights on the face and crown parkings really well done IMO.

 

The irons are visually a step back from Gen3 0311 for sure for me but functionally look very on par and the ease of one big weight vs the many little ones, makes sense. X-core has to be special for them to go from impact reactor dual core to a seemingly a single material in the irons.

$349/ea for irons that are forged in China (Confirmed by PXG)... They are laughing all the way to the bank. Will Gen5 be 6x forged since the Gen 4s are 5x? Whatever the hell that means...

 

I'll stick with Grindworks, Kyoei, Epon, or Miura at that price point.

Not a fan of the white on the woods and the words jumbled on the iron hosels.   I am also not a PXG hater as I have owned first 3 gens of irons and still game a gen1 hybrid and gen2 3 wood.

I would agree Bob on the PXG troops FB page one of the reps thought big screw would be adjustible so thats functional for swingweight.   most on page werent a fan of the looks.  What does it say on the hosel?

Says 5x Forged/Milled on the hosel. Whatever the hell that means. For such a premium price they sound so cheap with their wordings.

Frankly I thought the Gen3 felt mushy I like the feel most of the Gen1/Gen2.  And Ive had several sets of the Gen3

There is a reason Zach Johnson, Hahn, and most of those guys still hit Gen 1s. All the other gens are just gimmicks.

Probably lot less to deal with for swingweighting the irons than dealing with individual weights and maybe even manufacturing issues.

 

 

 

Look at the irons D. Berger used to win the AT&T the Gen 4 irons are TaylorMade knockoffs, Ever since the P790 came out for TM Bob Parsons has been envying them as he didn't come out so well with his Law Suit.

so has nothing to do with performance.  The STs were a milled face thus higher price.

Hosel stamp says 5xForged/Milled so looks like you are exactly correct

STs are blades buddy, not hollow irons like Gen2/3/4.
