So, the Gen 4 0311.....T, P, XP info is out now with pre-orders.

 

I see that the 0311ST is due back in mid April. 

Q.  Will it be a Gen 4 with the center weight screw like its family members the T, P, XP?

Only scene the Gen4 online via video and all the latest reviews (the my golf spy is a good one)...I have yet to visit Mesa but looking forward to it from all of your positive praise! 

 

I can definitely see the SIM DNA in the XT with the raised crown, lower rear weighting port and shallow face. The X and XF are definitely the direct sisters to the Proto and Proto+...probably down to the exact mm in every dimension.  The addition of the various lofts is nice for the Gen4...also I am not sure what they did with the weight they saved in the AVcrown section and the removal of the toe port...probably saved 4grams or so. Maybe thats how they kept swing weight with additional .5" of shaft length stock? Either way anyone who plays the Mitsu AV raw shafts will like the way this set up looks...I cant wait to test her and see how much hotmelt needs to go into the toe (if any).

All the lofts covered, plus 3 head designs and the cleanest loft sleeve in the the biz. 
 

The cool take away in that video is Turski’s gamer has been SIM2MAX and SIM2 thats never mentioned. So to be right there with spin and BS with all of the adjustability benefits is pretty telling.

Very impressive that they can keep up with the Sim2 BS numbers and in the last shot surpass it.  Also on mishits be right at or slightly below.

Help me understand the "cleanest loft sleeve in the business." The shaft and grip labels are set once the sleeve is glued to the shaft. Any adjustment to the driver via the sleeve screws up the label orientation of both. Several other manufactures account for this and make their sleeves so that the label keeps its orientation regardless of any adjustments made. IMHO that is preferable, especially if you use an Align or Calibrate version of the grip. Just my 2 cents worth...

I agree with you 100% on improvements in functionality tech, there are a couple two and even a three cog system by other manufacturers that allow for separate lie and loft relative to shaft adjustments(makes adjustments to the head with keeping the shaft graphics and grips aligned).

 

 My statement was purely cosmetic "clean", regarding the appearance installed of the loft sleeve itself. I mean when you have the loft sleeve tightened to the head, no writing or logo prints on the outside of the sleeve or ring like many that have "exterior" labeling. Its just simple and plain black with a short housing vs longer varieties.

Gen 4 are the best feeling irons I’ve ever hit, my only knock would be not enough feedback.  Even the bad ones with the T’s felt great and more forgiving than Gen 3.  Will probably switch to P’s in this Gen

Has anyone ordered the Gen4 and received a shipping notification? My fitter told me about 2 weeks and that was Saturday. I’m curious as to if he was BS’ing me or if 2 weeks is standard now.

Great question and nothing yet on my Gen4 X driver order was placed and confirmed with web order email on day one of pre-order. Jonesing as I just sent an email to the info email at PXG to ask for an ETA. Stay tuned.

Yea, do not trust their website for tracking. My Proto 3 wood was done for over a week until I called. The tracking said it was still being built when I actually picked it up. Calling is the best way.

It’ll be mid April at the earliest.  That’s around when fitters expect to get their fitting heads and even that isn’t definite yet.  Fitters don’t even know the CC on the clubs or if they are going to be longer or more forgiving or both yet.

Just left PXG Mesa store picking up some weights and I overheard this guy with the fitter doing a full bag Gen4. He was picking out his bag and hat. Had to be the guy that had the new corvette in the parking lot. 

 

Rolled the new Battle Ready Bat Attack. Really nice!!

Full bag fitting already? No way I'm getting fit for the driver, fairways and hybrids without hitting them first. Proto driver & Gen2 hybrids will be tough to beat. Plus, since non-stock shafts are upgraded costs, full bag overall price can jump by 1K - 2K easily. Gonna wait to fitters have all the goods then One & Done the fitting.

Agreed, Proto driver and Gen 2 hybrids are two of the best clubs PXG has ever made, imo. Haven't tried Gen 4s, but it'll be tough to beat.

My PXG fitter just called me and said the Gen4 driver heads are in. He wants to get me in ASAP. Hope to get a fitting this week against my Proto+.

Has anyone done a full bag fitting ? Seems like a pretty good deal. The gen 3’s are like $2,995 for 14 clubs—does that include sugar daddy wedges or are there up charges on the equipment, shafts etc?

I've heard from someone here that compared the gen2 hybrid and the 0211 and proto hybrids. he said that the gen2 was still the best, it was too tough of an act to follow. I haven't heard how the gen2 hybrid compares to the gen4 hybrid, though.

That, Gen 3 package, includes the forged wedges. Yes shaft upgrades, grips, etc are an additional cost on top of the package price.

Wish more mfg’s would allow for shaft adjustments while maintaining a grip with a rib. Think cally is the only one, right?

I believe Honma also does that, but their loft sleeve is a bit weird. it's not very intuitive.

I was fitted for GEN4 Irons on 3/20. I was told building end of March shipping early April but no shipping or build info yet so I'm not holding my breath.
