Interesting video re an often overlooked/old school club: the 5 wood. I tried out the gen4 5-wood at my pxg fitting and I loved it - found it more consistent and longer than the 3-hybrid. So I went for Driver-3w-5w and then 4h-5i-GW and 2x Sugar Daddies for my lofted clubs.

 

The total time from fitting to delivery at my door is 7 days - which I am really happy with.

Looking at Gen 4 irons now.. Hate the $39 upcharge on almost every shaft. But reviews seem to speak for themselves.

I got fit for the Gen4 P's today.  Night and day better than my 0211 Gen 1.  I ended up going with the Steelfiber fc150.  Feel was great, numbers backed it up.  I'm looking forward to the new toys!

I did the full bag fitting and received the goods last night. Went in thinking I’d end up with the p’s, but ended up with 4,5 in p and 6-gw in t’s. The t’s are just incredibly stupid easy to hit. Played 18 with them last night and hit 10 gir. Really surprised me how easy the t’s are to hit. Teed off with the 4 and 5 p’s a couple times and they are just long and straight. Again, stupid easy to hit. I came from 921 hmps and the t’s are as forgiving as the hmps and just as long. Now I’ve only played 18 with them, but the one thing is consistency. I’ll play 4-5 this weekend and have more on course data.

Certainly looks like the G4 iron in the bag.....Extra points for which model!

According to the PXG website, he is the only the 2nd male staffer with the G4 irons...Kokrak also.

Only one female staffer listed with G4 irons.

Now if he will dump the SIM2 woods for the PXG woods...lol

TM pays well to use the driver, Bob doesn't! Not much performance difference in either, except you get a bigger check with TM.

Bob needs to use some persuasion and get Pat into the G4 woods as well as many others that game non-PXG woods.

Should'nt be problems for Bob as it sure doesn't look good to see all these non-PXG woods in the bag and not just the TM either.

I'm "this" close to pulling the trigger on a Gen4 X driver.  My only hesitation is missing out on another flash sale.  They had that killer sale a few weeks ago, any idea if another one is coming.  I qualify for real heroes pricing so I'd like to see some kind of discount below non-heroes pricing.

I called about my hybrid build yesterday and asked about any flash sales coming up. He said nothing he was aware of and people on GolfWrx would probably know before he does. LOL. He said Bob just does those sales with no notice.

 

I should have picked one up at $295.

Anyone try the Gen 4 hybrid and have a POV on it?  Searching for a 22 degree that will get me about 200 yards carry.  Have used Titleist 818 H1 but too round for my taste and reverting back to taylormade M2 at the moment.

Me too, I just can’t justify grabbing the Gen4XF when the Proto+ has been so spectacular for me. The more I think about it the more “stealth” look is my preference when looking back at my Gen4X purchase. I didn’t mind the new look at all, in fact is really beautiful and intricate at the in person view, it’s just one notch less attractive to me vs the Proto+. 
 

To add a little off topic, my 0211 3wood is soooo nice off the deck. Being a 2hybrid player for years, I forgot how much easier it is to get that 250 total out of a 3wood off the deck. The Speeder EvoV 757 is a perfect fit at 42.25” for me for a little more control and insurance on that center strike and the under side “rails” are great. Had the head hot melted after adding a 15gram weight to the head and the sound and feel are world class now. Definite summer spot in my bag. 
 

I did like the Proto and Gen4 fairways off the tee peg, but the Proto was definitely higher spin than both in my fit. Gen4 was a little lower spin for me vs the Proto but still not as optimal off the deck in terms of consistent strike pattern and ball flight vs the 0211 Evo V 757 combo. If you want a little lower spin with the lower rails and rounded toe and heel for easy in and out interaction off the turf, do not discount the 0211 head for off the deck use, which is my primary use of this weapon. 
 

OK end of rant and now back to the regularly scheduled Gen4 show.

I’m finally getting the gen4x dialed in. I already had a smoke yellow for the proto so I ordered a diamana in the gen4. I ended up putting the yellow In The gen4 and for me it’s def better. I also had to add more weight to the gen4. It came with a 10, 2.5, 2.5, but I’m currently playing 20 up front, 2.5 rear, and 2.5 heel with shaft on small -. To me the proto is much more fade biased but the gen4 just goes high and straight and seems to be just a tad more forgiving. Hit two of my longest bombs ever in the last two rounds.

Anymore updates on the Gen4 fairways? Love the driver so much and seeing a little too much spin on the proto fairways. I need a 3 wood I can hit off the deck mostly.

Proto fairways spin a bunch.. unfortunately the Gen4 spins quite a bit too. Not as much, but still quite high

 
the 2h spins about the same , if not even less than both Proto and Gen4 3w.

 

As much as I loved the Proto and currently Gen4 drivers, I’d say both fairways have been a miss

Well, you could order another brand and get them sometime this winter.   I'll gladly pay the shipping for the fast turnaround, instead of the ready in July, oh wait ready in August, oh wait ready in September, oh wait ready in October that seems to be every other company's delivery promises.
