You are on the wrong site asking a question like that.  😂🤣

It's really not a PXG thread unless half the posts are by people who will never ever buy a PXG product

Just got home from my quick 30 minute fitting at PXG in Mesa for specs on my irons and rehit the Proto 5 wood. Perfect. Ordered it.   But.... got to hit the Gen4 P and it was crazy good for

I'm a huge fan of PXGs. I like there pricing strategy. Those who want the latest and greatest (like the technology industry) pay top dollar for that. Those happen to get the previous gen equipment get a huge discount.

I'm happy buying the previous gen because there isn't much in the way of performance gain, for me; I don't really care about a few yards, that doesn't so anything for my scoring. I can buy the previous gen, play them for 1-2 seasons and then sell them privately for 75-80% of the price I paid.

For example, you can buy a 7 pc set of 0211s now for $84 each or $588 plus shipping. You can easily play these for a year and get $500 back later, especially if you keep them in good shape (I use iron covers). You won't find a better iron set in the world for $588.

What I also love about PXG is you get a custom fit and build free. I have wonky spec requests and they will build to my spec with no extra charge. Their fitters are also top notch.

I just bought a set of Gen2s for $1000, a few years ago these were $2600-2700.

If you keep your eyes peeled, you can also catch their premium shafts for no upgrade. I grabbed the Accra shafts for free and now they are +$39 each

PXG makes great equipment of high quality and if you play the game smart the cost of playing their stuff is lower than playing no-name brand equipment. It's not what something costs that's important, it's the total cost of ownership.

Playing equipment because someone on tour wins with it is silliness.

Kokrak one in Vegas with Gen2 Ts... what do I care. I can't hit the ball like Kokrak and never will. Pros are pros not because of equipment, it's because of their skills. It doesn't bother me in the least that PXG hasn't won a major.

I had set of Gen2 with Accra sent back the graphics were too distracting

Gen 4 wood & hybrid will be day 1 purchase for me. Gen 2 are that good.  If the new 0211 are indeed forged, I'll probably get those too, depending on the size of the head. Otherwise it will be Gen 3 0311T's. I love PXG clubs, they are great.

I chat with my fitter regularly. He recently said the new 0211 were in proto for a while and doesn't know the price point yet, but he thinks they will be low and will be a hot item. He mentioned the new woods & hybrids are getting some great feedback, like the proto driver.

So whats the point of the 0211 FB its forged is it replacing the 0311ST.  What will pricepoint be?

That’s what I’m wondering. If it’s not hollow and it’s a truly forged blade, then it’s not replacement for the original 0211. It sounds like it’s a cheaper offering of a true blade compared to the ST, which is an astronomical $650 per club.

Agreed they look nice but wont be real cheap if forged

The 0211FB is a less expensive forging compared to the much more expensive milled st blade.

Just like the forged wedges are less expensive than the milled wedges.

I get the hype around these 0211ST's, but they're not for me. I'm honestly glad that they're filling out a 0211 line instead of replacing what's already there. I hope they continue to fill gaps in their lineup instead of refreshing last year's model just for the sake of it being "new".

I'm certainly no expert, but to me it seems like the PXG premium pricing model requires at least one of the following before it actually works...

1. Innovation

2. "Better" materials and/or craftsmanship

They were basically (kinda sorta) first to market with the forged/filled irons and that was an innovation, and a good one. Now you have similar irons/technology from many of the OEMs and so they can no longer differentiate themselves that way. They can make a marketing argument for better materials and/or craftsmanship, but they need to continue to prove that.

I think they can still "get away with" charging $250 a stick, based on some combination of reputation for quality and performance. But to go back to $400+ per iron seems like it would require another real innovation.

I do think the one thing I would 100% focus on (if I were PXG) is building clubs to the highest tolerance in the industry. Ensure that your builds are SPOT ON...  every single iron that leaves the factory has the correct or requested length, loft, lie, and swing weight - assuming the sw requested is doable based on the components ordered. Build a reputation for those kinds of details, and market it that way and stand by it - and you will always find a buyer.

There are a lot of people that appreciate those finer details, and they are often the ones willing to pay a premium for it. Most folks would be astounded to know how bad most OEMs builds are, spec-wise. I've measured a ton of brand new clubs over the years and I don't trust a single OEM to do it right (except maybe Honma). Too me this seems like something PXG could put a focus on, market it, and benefit from it.

IMO of course

So a extended line..not really a gen 4 release per se

I will be surprised if they stay with the current cast 0211 iron and not update it to the look of the 0211ST forged blade but with a filled front cavity.

Why are people obsessed with having the most up to date version of this or that? It’s not like software, what you own is hard goods, equally as good now as when purchased. Don’t let a newer iteration of anything keep you awake at night....

So are they releasing an 0211 ST and FB, or are these the same iron, just with a different name than we thought?

Also, I’m assuming the new 0211 forged is going to be less forgiving than the 0311 T since it’s not hollow.

Interesting, If so...so the 0311 line will remain the premium line, while the 0211 is the more affordable line.

It appears that the FB has been replaced by the ST logo...same iron...a forged blade.

Yes, now two lines the 0211 and the 0311.

I doubt the 0211ST will be cheap theyre out of stock of the milled 0311ST and the FB may be more resonable
