Currently going with the PING.  The Hoofer just balances so flawlessly on the shoulders.  The moment you get it on both shoulders it just settles in the perfect sweetspot and it doesn't shift around like the Sun Mtn strap systems.  The perfect bag would be a Sun Mtn with the PING straps and strap connection points (I think the connection points are the key to the PINGs 'carrying lighter' as a lot of people remark).  That said, I'm sure I'll have another Sun Mtn at some point.

Is this a picture of the new colorway?  I can’t remember if the navy was an option.

Yes, that navy is new.  Last year's red/navy/white was primarily grey.

I came back to Ping after a few years with SM. The Pings carry lighter, they are tanks and don't want to break. To me a SM bag will last 2 years and break, my Hoofer is now 2 years old and except fading in the Texas sun, scrapes on the stand legs from the cart; its brand new. I try and carry most of my rounds, and this bag is perfect.

Yes it tangles slightly with the bag sitting down, pick it up and its great.

Those look like the same colors as last year to me, maybe besides the USA one.

The website is a little wonky, but the new options are there (links below).

Hoofer: The "emerald" green version now says "teal." Looks like a darker green to me. Then the USA version. There will be at least one more in there at some point since we've seen a picture of a navy version.

Lite: Four new versions in there, but you have to click the tiny pictures under "Choose Your Options," otherwise you can't see them.

Craz-E-lite: Three new options - blue, neon, and white.

Not sure that I love any of these, but I need a bag so I'll talk myself into one of them.

yea, the craze lite one is the only one I think that looks good of the bunch from last year and what we have seen this year so far in colors. Only issue on the craze lite is the material is much more thin, almost like tent material vs. the other bags, probably won't last as long.

I wasn't sure what to think of that one.

Agree.  At first I was digging it, but now I think it looks a little too much like a designer hand bag.  I also avoid white bags, although this one likely doesn't show dirt as readily.  Got my Hoofer Lite for a great price so will likely just stick with it vs. paying full price for the Mr. PING.

I’ve been super pleased with this bag.  Carry’s perfectly and the straps are ultra comfortable and easy to adjust.

I’ve wanted this exact bag but I walk every round and keep second guessing it. Do you happen to have any feedback on carrying this vs a lightweight option (SM 2.5, craz-e-lite, etc)? I only carry 10 clubs, and wonder if a bare bones bag would be less comfortable than something sturdy like this with more cushion to it.

I’ve carried a 2.5 years and years ago.  The added weight of the hoofer doesn’t bother me at all because of how comfortable it is.   The pockets are all layed out well, The cart strap though passage is nice, water bottle pocket fits everything I’ve put in it.  The magnetic pocket works awesome for range finders.   It’s a great bag, I don’t regret the purchase one bit.    I do have a 2021 Nike bag coming just because of the top layout and I had a gift card that made it under 80 bucks for the bag.

If ping adopted the Nike/Jones club organization layout it’d be game over.  There was zero tangle with that layout. The ping gets a little tight on the bottom row carrying four wedges and a 9 iron.

Does the 2021 Hoofer still come with the little gremlin at the bottom of the bag that smooshes your grips together so you can't pull any clubs out?

I have no idea why this is always an issue for me with Ping bags LOL. I have 2 Ogio bags and it's never as much of a problem.

Ping bags you have to do bicep curls to get the clubs out of there!

Have you tried the Hoofer 14, that one comes with a pack of gremlins that have been doing bicep curls? My preferred technique to extricate clubs is to use my larger muscles in my core and legs.

Get some knee bend, rotate your core, grab the club as low as you can and then push upwards off the ground as you rotate your core and pull with your lats. You can add a little forearm and wrist at the end. I usually get the club out within the first 5 attempts using this technique.

Looks like Morton's added a bunch of colors to the Craz-e lite. Lots of cool options. Still see nothing for the standard hoofer.

i still wish the Hoofer Lite was lighter.  maybe split the difference in the Craze Lite and Hootfer.  its almost a waste to call it lite when its .5 lbs lighter than the standard Hoofer.  a 3.5 would be perfect.  i know several have said the hoofer lite carries so well they dont mind the extra weight....that kinda has me back to considering one.  thought i was dead set on a Sun Mountain 2.5+ however i have never liked their straps or where they connect to the bag.

I have a hard time believing the USA and a darker green were the only two color ways PING created for this year.

Yea it is but they've been discounted and out of stock of most of their bags for a month. Hard to believe all of that is for a different shade of green and a polarizing USA bag.

It simply doesn't need to be any lighter.  I prefer carrying it vs a 2.5+ since it's just more comfortable even though it weighs about 2 lbs more.  I'm constantly having to fiddle with the balance of the bag/straps on the 2.5+.  Hoofer Lite is so comfortable you barely notice it's there.

counterpoint: you can have a bag that is both balanced AND lighter

lighter you get the more you start getting into less substantial material. The thicker material Ping uses lasts forever, for ping craze lite they had to go with a tent like material/nylon, we don't know how long that will hold up throwing into your car or corner could catch the material. The current thicker Ping material has no problems with that

I don’t disagree with you, there are trade offs for sure. Especially durability. But the original post I was responding to seemed to be suggesting you have to either choose balanced or lightweight, I just don’t think that’s the case
