Staff Blade should get more love.

Why the Wilson Staff isn't mentioned 20 times by now is criminal. It has to be lack of demoing them.

As far as a pure blade that is a muscle back; MP20 are going to still be hard to beat.

but I’d second the TB-zero above for all markets.

I seriously regret getting rid of my MP5s.. So stupid..

Everyone screamed at Mizuno for years about those oversized 8-P though!!  I like the small scoring irons, looks so sleek and smooth to me.  I really like the MP20 - very forgiving as well.

right  , I know they did. But not us guys who actually pick and stick with these irons.

having the small scoring irons puts too much weight low.  A wedge should be evened out so you can control the trajectory easier.  I like weight low on long irons. And higher on short.  Hit long irons high and short irons low.

trust me. I tried to like my set. But on the end my favorite club has always been a pitching wedge.  And I loathed that mp20 wedge.

That lower trajectory is why I jumped on a set of MP37s (a set I stupidly sold 14-15 years ago).

Addressing the original topic, my faves are items from the past.  Like the above 37s, or various other irons of yore.  I don't see much in the new stuff that interests me all that much.

If I were in the market and could only choose something from current product...  Blueprints all the way.

Understood.  It's all personal preference and if it's visual, can't do much about it.

However to account for that they called it a "Flow Tapered Blade," adding weight up top to move the CG/sweetspot higher in the scoring clubs.  I've never had an issue with a ballooning scoring iron, believe me.

High end, like the TB Zero. Average pricing, really like the P7.  The TB offer a bunch of custom options that go beyond stamping and lie/loft and they are Miura's which is never a bad thing. The P7 has clean unique look, love the 3D diamond muscle, minimal offset and stance. I could buy those tomorrow, I could buy the TB for a "I'm special" occasion which perhaps is never, lol.

It's DTC but I just got my New Level 623-M and they look sleek and sexy.  They are technically MB but when I talked to Eric, he said that they are as playable as any player's cb out there.  Longer length from heel to toe like the rac tp mb which was my gamer back in the day and those were damn sexy.  Can't wait until I get the opportunity to hit them this weekend!

I've had the opportunity to test them.  They are sweet and sexy aesthetically.  Pretty soft as well.  I noticed the lower ball flight but that could've been the shaft.  Pretty easy to work the ball left and right, high and low.  My buddy told me they are cheap because nobody's heard of Honma or the Rose protos.  Hell, he's trying to get rid of the extra sets he has in stock for a discount.

Can't believe how cheap Honma Rose Proto is selling for now. Check it out after reading this post.

Anyone tried this vs Srixon Z Forged?

Hmm.  That maybe my gripe then.  There’s a fine line for Vertical cog from raising it for flight and having it be too high.  Modern irons in general tend to have raised that too much.  It may be that is the reason why I didn’t care for the short irons.

I had a combo set of mmc 4-6 and mb 7-pw  bought used to test out.  And would have assumed I’d add the rest mb if I liked the short irons.  Well. I found the mmc to be better feeling x10.  I just was not into the mb at all.

my opinion.   But I really haven’t disliked many irons that quickly or that completely.  It was a strange set.

but I totally agree that it’s personal preference.

Guess I'd have to say Titleist 620Mb's - but you'd better know how to properly use the sweet spot to the ball.

I have a set. I pure them up into a net... hate them on the course. I’ll say that I have C taper S+ in them, which I never play... I usually like modus 120x. I never had a club consistently go left of me. Like a draw on every shot. And I play my irons 2.5* flat, not cause I’m a guy with brass balls or anything, just cause I like to play a little fade.  Also, at home, I pure them up so perfectly. They feel so solid. I thought they would compete to be in the bag this year. I just cannot replicate this on the course... at all. I’ve probably played 150 holes with them this year across various turf conditions to no avail. They look brilliant and have a thin top line and a THIN sole. This is a bit of a wonky review... i know, and yes, the iron has a lovely density to it when struck pure... I just do do that enough.

I don't have much experience with blades but I really enjoyed the Ben Hogan Icons.  I thought they were really nice to look at, minimal offset but such a great overall shape and were plenty forgiving for a decent ball striker.  I just sold mine but wouldn't hesitate to go back.
