Cobra Speedzone Love?

I've really enjoyed my speedzone.  I have the normal version, not the extreme.  Have 14g weight at the face and 2g in the rear and it really creates a hot face with a lot of roll out.  It's very forgiving (not compared to the extreme) but compared to the F8+ I came from, it's much more forgiving on mishits.

I have hit a lot of fairways and been able to move the ball both directions since switching to this speedzone so all-in-all, I'm very happy with it.

I was hitting mine with the 14 gram in the front and it did seem to roll a good amount for hitting into a stiff breeze. Interested to see it on the course. Do you find yours to be high flight?  I was surprised mine is more medium or even low for the loft given my expectations for it to fly very high.

Regarding ball flight, it's hard to talk about that without talking about the shaft since the shaft impacts ball flight more than 1 head at say 10* loft than another head.  I use a low trajectory evenflow white t1100.  Wound up selling my 9* head and getting a 10.5* head.  Currently have it set to 11.5* draw, which seems nuts (I always used 7.5 to 9.5* heads) but the shaft is so low that the loft setting works out great and the ball has a great, penetrating ball flight.  Guess I'm following the "loft up" campaign TM did a handful of years ago.

Interesting.  I may need to loft up or tee high as well to get my usual launch conditions with the Ventus Blue Velocore.  We'll see.

@evoviiiyou how's the speedzone experiment going?

I've been toying with the weighting, right now this driver is at 45".

Using a 6 gm weight in front BUT with an additional 2gm + 2gm (lead tape) either side of that weight. And then I have a 10 gm weight in the rear. My grip right now has 5 layers front and 3 layers back so that's about 1 gm. Total swing weight is  D4 ish

What I like about this combination is it seems more stable on impact. That extra 4 gm on the side of the 6 gm is ala-RAD. As well, trajectory is also reduced especially compared to the 14 gm rear & 2 gm in front combo. I tried the 14gm in front but the head seems too unstable. Super low spin, YES but it's costing me direction wise with it's instability.

Shaft is Ventus Velocore Blue with the Conex tip set to standard.

For me, this combo seems to be the sweet spot between stability, spin control and trajectory.  Give that a try when you experiment...

I’m currently playing mine with a 9* head, turned down 1*.  Have a speeder Evo IV 661x.  Has about 6 grams of hot melt spread out from front to back.  Lower

trajectory and medium spin.  Very controllable flight.  If I need to hit it high I just tee it up higher than normal.  When hit on the screws it feels amazing!  Looks fantastic as well!

I have move don after dialing it in for best performance via weighting and shafts.  Ended it with the 14 gram up front and a 6gram in the rear at 44.5" it was a perfect D4 on my scale.  Was very nice and as long as anything out.  I did notice for any lower face strikes is where I would see a drop in distance compared to SIM and PXG Proto+.  Thanks and hope it goes well for you.
