Wow, pretty big news if true.

Hopefully he isn't another in recent memory of hitting world number 1 and switching...Didn't work the greatest for Justin Rose.

Wonder what ball he will play?  Does he switch to a ChromeSoft or does he start playing a Pro V?  If it ain't broke, why fix it.

I feel like Travis Matthew is a good fit. Never liked Rahm in Adidas. Switching from Taylormade though would be a horrible idea for Rahm.

Why do you say that?  Callaway makes great equipment like TM does IMO.

A good move on  the clothing change, he certainly did not look like a good fit in Adidas pants. The switch to Callaway will be interesting to see what if any impact it has on his game.

Clothing wise, if that is correct, it would be a great move. His Adidas gear is horrendous. Always remember reading an interview where he said he liked his gear but not the stuff that Justin Thomas wore...shook my head at that one haha.

Who is the most successful Callaway player of the last 5 years? Shauffele?

 

I don't think the tour equipment is good compared to other OEMS and the ball (Chromesoft) is simply inferior to Titleist, Taylormade, Bridgestone, and Srixon by every measurable except "more spin".

 

They make great drivers for amateurs looking to pick up distance but they aren't stable enough for high speed players. Hitting 1-2 knuckle balls that go 50 yards off line every round kills scores. Look at the Maverick that "won" TXG's Driver Bracket. That thing is unplayable on the course and Matt B. switched out of it to his old 410 LST and new Titleist TSi almost immediately.

Xander has only been using Callaway for a couple of seasons but that I think simply underlines your point. Beyond that your bigger but fading names in terms of results are Mickelson, Stenson and Furyk.
