X100 vs Nippon SPB

Hey all- was hoping to get more specific information on Tour issue X100’s vs Nippon Super Peening Blue.

 

i have 1/4 in tipped x100’s and love the the overall functionality and the flight however am running into some elbow issues....#gettingoldersucks.
 

Do the SPB’s play more like X100s? Not sure swing speed but 6i flies 190-195.

 

tried both modus 120x and tx and neither are for me.

This is great. I just picked up a 4-p super peening blue set. I’ll eventually build some clubs with them. I would love to hear more about them.

Honestly, if you are having elbow issues, I'd look at the MMT125TX graphite shafts. They are designed to mimic the X100 profile.

You could also try Nippon Tour125 which is very similar to SPB. Some of the tour players that moved to Nippon from X100 went into 125X hard stepped. If you are ok with a touch softer then 125 straight in may be a good trial.  DG performance with KBS Tour feel.

I had Nippon 125 X straight in and they felt like DG X100 and PX 6.5 had a love child - right in the middle of each ''feel''.

Currently in S400 tour issue and the weight just isn't doing it for me in everything but my gap wedge. Previously was a S300 (both the legacy and original AMT) player and liked them but want to move into something stiffer to hopefully keep the trajectory down a la S400/X100.

 

I was considering either straight in X100s or SSed X100s but then I heard of the SPB and the following it has and how it's like a super smooth/LL/LS version of TTDG. 

 

So I'm now contemplating the following:

-SPB X straight in (129 g)

-SPB S hard stepped once (125 g)

-SPB X soft stepped once (129 g)

 

Does anyone have any experience with what the FCM is on these guys after hard or soft stepping?
