Callaway mavrik irons line replacement for 2021?

Anyone know if the mavrik line of irons is going to be replaced for 2021? Was going to get a set of the pros but might wait a bit if they are going to be phased out...thanks

No they will be “current” through 2021

 

However there are new apex irons in 2021 and possible an epic speed iron

As said, I'd imagine they will be current. I Currently have the Max and Pro's in a combo set I put together. I really like the pro's. Feel and sound great. I'm not exactly a high spin player but I get enough out of the pros that I don't have to worry about holding greens and they are plenty easy to hit for me.

Our club pro is a Callaway guy, and told me this:

 

The Big Bertha B21 irons are a new SGI iron for beginners who want a quick entry into golf.

 

More experienced players likely will prefer Mav MAX (continuing model). MAX head is helpful without being massive.

Have you ever sat a MAX head down in front of you? It's massive and obtrusive.

All I know is that with the right shaft, I get better distance with MAX than stock Mavrik.

 

Obtrusive means imposing, as in the MAX clubhead imposes itself on the ball and knocks it onto the green? Isn't that what we want irons to do?

 

I put the MAX and B21 heads side by side last week, and the B21 hat a thicker toe and sole.

 

Also, you likely have much higher clubhead speed than I do, and likely use player's type irons which have smaller heads. Some of the guys I play with use Cleveland HB launchers, or hybrid-like irons, so MAX doesn't look overly large to me.

Same. Where I noticed an even difference was height on shots which helped a little with distance, but more with how the ball holds greens and with the dispersion on shots. A lot to do with how jacked the lofts are on the standard Mavrik but also Max has a wider sole with weight low and back

🤣 I like it. Good spin. Obtrusive as in noticeable or prominent in an unwelcome or intrusive way. They definitely stand out but honestly looks are a final consideration for me, not a first one. I'd putt with a frying pan if it helped me knock it in in 1 or 2.

Just a observation since I have been playing with maverick irons is when you compare the sweet spot in relation to the distance from the shaft is that they moved it considerably  further away 

Also very toe biased weighted 

It has made me move my setup further away from the ball 

the sweet spot on the face is definitely heel oriented ard has left me struggling to find my correct distance to stand from the ball

I agree. I bought a set and I couldn't hit the 7-5 iron solid at all and I am a single digit that has played X-14s for 20 years. I could stay with the 14s but I need a change. The Mavs were great up to the 8 iron and I hated the way they scratched up so easy. I sent them back and I am loving the B21 with graphite shafts. Longer and more accurate than the X14s. Easy to hit and I love them. They are much like the Eye2s but better. way better. I never got on with straight blades or forged irons. I like hitting greens. I might be the only cast iron single digit player around. I have had quite a few rounds in the 60s with offset cast clubs.
